Finally Toured Hospital
Hi Ladies--
Tomorrow I will be 33 weeks...can you believe it? I'm in shock over it myself.
This morning my husband and I had a tour of the hospital where we'll be having our son in less than 6 weeks. I was very happy with it...from the free parking (not the norm in these parts) to the individual rooms to the in-house Dunkin Donuts to the competent nurses. The two we met with gave us loads of information and were very complimentary about our knowledge given that we haven't done this (had a baby) before. I'm hoping to make the breastfeeding class before this pregnancy is up and then I plan on going to the BFing support group that is offered.
In the nursery we saw a baby who was only 4 hours old and my husband said "Remember, Honey, today we're just looking...we're not buying." He's been using that line a lot lately at the car dealerships, etc.
Now I'm all psyched to pack my hospital bag this week and it feels good knowing that a.) my husband know how to get to the hospital and b.) it'll be familiar territory when we go.
That's one more item checked off my list.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO...I loved that part...even though I went with a friend of mine since Nate was not here :) He learned the ropes the morning of the c-section.
I also loved packing the bag....there are so many things to remember so I did it plenty in advance too...
I was like you on all of the classes...I went to an all day birthing class from my OBGYN office as I did not know I was having a c-section until the few days before...it was great info anyway and I learned TONS of info....I did the BFing one too and unfortunately it did not work for me but again was very good if I get to try it again. I also went to a few more....one on Baby Essentials (the lessons on changing diapers, feeding, burping, bathing and colicky baby tips). That was great...I took a girlfriend to that one too but it was fun watching the guys in the class changing diapers, etc. The other really important one I went to was CPR and Safety...thankfully I have not had to use it but it is a good reminder from all of those CPR and babysitting classes (LOL) I had years ago.
All of them were well worth it for me being a primeip and first time mommy.....I so cannot believe you are 6 weeks away from having your LO in your arms...seems like yesterday you announced you were PG....WOW.....
Did you get the new car, btw?

Thanks for your response. I'm having a hard time believing I'm less than 6 weeks away too. I took the car seat out of the box and got wigged out and had to put it away. It was too real. Yet, at the same time, I simply cannot wait for Baby Boy to arrive. I'll chock my behavior up to my gemini-ness...all these conflicting emotions.
The new car...we haven't gotten it yet...but in the next couple of weeks. I spent hours cleaning out my current car this weekend and I was so sad...but happy too. Sad to see it go since it's a great car and there is nothing wrong with it...but since my needs are changing, my car needs to suit the new needs. I'm having a hard time deciding on which color red or blue. Normally I'm quite decisive, but the pregnancy has made me the worst decider in history. So, I just might have to flip a coin.

Funny! I just got online today to look into touring the hospital too! I am delivering at a different one than Kellen's (Thank God!!) so I am anxious to check it out!
Glad you like this one. I really enjoyed the bfing class when I was pregnant with K - just wish I could have used the info I learned! I didn't produce enough.
Go agead and pack your bag...just remember to repleni**** when you've used the stuff that was in there before going to the hospital! LOL! I did that with Kellen as he was supposed to be a premie - but wasn't! :-)
