Is it just as effective after surgery?

I don't know for sure, but my educated guess would be no - not quite due to the absorption issues.  That being said, however, if you need it, it's worth a try.

Good luck!

I would also say no - but call your surgeon or the pharmacy and ask. Unfortunately I don't think you are going to get any "been there done that" answers here - this is primarily women who are trying to get pregnant.

Best of luck

Since most of us have absorption problems regular pills don't work.  If it comes in a capsule open it up and sprinkle it on applesauce.  If it comes in a tablet form then cru**** up and do the same with the applesauce or lick it off the plate.  Then drink some caffeine to activate it so to speak.  I hope everything works out well for you and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.  Accidents happen all the time.  Be safe

I actually took Plan B, and (as you can see lol) it didn't work.  Nevertheless, I am anxiously awaiting my little boy!

Been there done that! lol! (haha sorry Liz!) I took the Plan B pill after our oops only because of the fact that I was soooo early post op. I am now 26 weeks along! haha! I doubt my surgery caused it to "fail" though. What Plan B does is kill the sperm that is in your body. Sperm can live for up to 3 days inside your body so if you ovulate anytime w/ in those 3 days you have a good chance at becoming pregnant. After doing the math I found out I was more than likely ovulating at the same time we had our oops so there was no way to avoid pregnancy since fertilization  happens w/ in a half hour. So Plan B can prevent pregnancy if you aren't ovulating at the time of the oops but if you are.... there is really no way to avoid it. I'm not a Dr though so maybe call a nurse line and double check.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply! Regardless, I owuld consider it a blessing. Even though I am only two months out. Abortion wouldn't even cross my mind. So did you still lose a good amout of weight so far?

Oh I agree! We really wanted a baby but of course planned on waiting the 12-18 mo. but God had other plans! :-)

I have actually lost about 70lbs in the past 6 mo of being pregnant. I still haven't gained any weight but it has stalled. I think I am still losing body fat and gaining baby weight because my maternity jeans are gradually getting too big for me in the butt and legs but filling out in the tummy. I know it will take some extra work to get to goal after delivery but I'm up for the challenge!
