anyone getting progesterone injections weekly?

since my last pregnancy resulted in my son being a preemie....this time around my obgyn has started me on progesterone shots every week. apparently it will hopefully put off early labor...i am 20 weeks. today i  got my first injection. it definately wasnt fun...lol...but about an hour later i felt like there was a balloon inflating inside me...with cramping....

just curious if anyone else out there is getting the injections and have any side effects? any feedback would be appreciated!

I have been on progesterone suppositories (twice a day) since I found out I was pg at 4 wks.  I only have to be on them until 12 weeks thankfully.  At first,  I was very emotional and had mood swings, but now I think my body has adjusted ok at 10 wks.   I just have to be on them because my body doesn't produce enough progesterone at first to support a pregnancy.   At around 12 wks, the placenta takes over progesterone production and so I can go off the suppositories!  yay!

thanks for your response....i guess i should have added that with my last pregnancy i did fertility and my RE had me on progesterone pills 2x daily as well....

i am looking for people who actually just get the inctions weekly  because of past pregnancies being premature.... 1/2 way thru pregnancy...

but...good luck with going off your suppositories...i bet you are looking forward to getting off them...LOL...have a great pregnancy...

Im in the exact same boat as you.  Just finished the suppositories and my doc is going to start me on injections at 20 weeks.  Now im scared :O) haha.  I will be looking for other people as well to give us both some good advice.  Will you keep me posted how it is each week?  Good luck.
