When you're so tired you fall asleep everywhere...

What do you do? I called out of work yesterday and slept until 5:00 in the evening. The only reason I got up was because I had to pick DD up from after school. I was back in bed by 9:00pm and didn't do much during my waking hours other than cook a simple dinner and watch a movie.
I'm at work and I am sooooo tired!!! I want so badly to go get a caffeinated beverage from the breakroom but I know I shouldn't! That's probably one factor that's making it worse. I wasn't drinking much caffeine before, but I did have a cup of coffee every morning and at least one other caffeinated drink during the day. This AM I had half caf half decaf and it may as well have been water.

I can't wake up!! What do I do?!?? I have a job and a family to take care of, sleeping day in and day out isn't an option unfortunately :-( .

I hear ya.  I had to read your post twice just to comprehend it...that's how tired I am.  I think we just have to wait it out.  Hopefully it gets better soon.

I think it'll be okay for you to go ahead and have that cup of coffee... just don't go CRAZY with the caffiene. Just know that eventually this phase will go away and you'll feel like a spring chick again... until the third trimester. LOL You'll be okay!

I felt that way until I was about 6-8 weeks along. It will get better!! I promise! In the mean time just sleep when you can.

I don't know when it goes away - I am almost 10 weeks and still just BEAT!!  I go and take a nap in my car at lunch.  It's not much (about thirty minutes) but it helps get me through the afternoon.

You can safely have up to 200 mg of caffeine during pregnancy. which equals out to about 2-3 cups of coffee per day or 2-3 cans of pop(different brands have different amounts). I would say go ahead and have your morning cup. It's normal to be tired in the beginning, your body is hard at work. It will get better with time, in the mean time, get to bed early and take naps. I know it's hard with kids.

I feel the same way. My hubby works nights so as soon as he gets up, I leave the kids with him and then I nap until he goes to work. I woke up this morning and could barely get my eyes to open. I had forgotten about this phase. If I remember correctly it goes away around the second trimester but is back in the third.

I'm right there with ya! A good friend an co-worker caught me accidentally dozing off at my desk the other day - how embarassing! If she didn't know the reason she would have thought that I lost it. I am always upbeat and ready to go - not now!

Oh...I feel ya on this one!   I have had to close my office and take a nap  on several occassions.  If it wasn't hot outside, I would lay on the back seat of my car...LOL.  On Saturday, I was sooo drained that I stayed in bed most of the day and felt like I just could not get up.  I actually feel that it is getting a little better now that I am 13 weeks.  Fortunately, I don't have any other children or major responsibilities when I get home, so I can rest.

Hang in there!

Drink a cup of coffee - or TWO!  ;-)  It's ok...as long as you don't go overboard.  I was like that the 1st trimester and now again in my 3rd.  My last pregnancy I was pregnant all summer and still HAD to go to my car during work to take an hour long nap just to survive.  I am not working this time around but I have two small kids and am pregnant with twins.  THANK GOD my 5 year old can watch a movie and take care of himself for a short while so I can nap when my 2 year old is napping.  My 5 year old usually passes out too since the house is so quiet so that's nice though.  :-)

Sorry you are so exhausted.  Trimester 2 is great....but it all comes back in numero 3!

Good luck!
