24 weeks and abdomen sore? Anyone else?

Hello... I'm new to this board. I had open RNY Nov 2005... The only complication was I tore scar tissue/adhesion in my abd last May...of course I was doing chest compressions during a code for over 1 hr on a 300lb pt... (i'm a icu nurse)... needless to say.. I try to stay away from that now a days.... So I'm extra careful because of that exprience...

My question is.. has anyone had soreness in the abdomen region during their pregnancy? This is my 1st pregnancy...and my entire abd is sore...it really started this past week... along with low back pains... I called my ob md..and they (are not on my fav list to begin with..)..and they said go see my pcp..that it wasn't pregnancy related...

Now I am still a ICU nurse... and I'm on my feet 13hrs at work..and all that good stuff.. But I 'm just concerned given I had open RNY..and weaker abdomen muscles...vs someone who never had RNY..

Any expriences with this? I'm going to my pcp tommorow..to see what can be done if anything. Keeping the baby safe it #1... me #2.. and my patients #3... May have to do lifting restrictions..etc...      I did loose 110 lbs..and have kept it off... and have no regrets to having the RNY... and regardless of all my pain.. I LOVE being pregnant and feeling the baby kick!

I'm due  Jan 10 2010.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the board. I am also nearly 24 weeks and due Jan7th! So we are very close in our pregnancy. I have been sore for a few weeks but just notice it off and on. It hurts the most when I lay down and then try to get up...guess the muscles are just not use to that kind of movement with a baby in there. I did not have open RNY so I am not sure we would feel exactly the same but I think the soreness is pretty common at this point in pregnancy...

I have been pretty sore since week 18 with all the growing and stretching and all. I feel like the baby is trying to crawl out sometimes it gets so sore. My back hurts also along with the tops of my legs. Doc tells me its from the growing baby and all the organs getting pushed into other places and the weight change and how your body posture changes the bigger the baby gets. Thats just what I have been told and all.
Welcome to the board though and I hope it gets better for you!!!

Hello there!  I am due Jan. 9 2010!  There's a couple of us that are due right around the same time!  I just started having these symptoms this past week and thought it was just me!  Now, I see it's not just me too, which is sort of a relief.  I had my lap. RNY 10/07 and had 2 more abd. surgeries since then (most recent was a large fybroid tumor they removed in 12/08).  I figured I was sore due to that and the weakening of the muscles.  Even my hips hurt!!! Ouch!  I think you have nothing to worry about but would ask my doc anyways just to be sure.  Good Luck and welcome to the board!

I did not have open RNY but my stomach muscles constantly feel like I've done tae bo or something.  My stretch marks are burning like crazy as my OB says they are getting bigger.  WONDERFUL!  My previous c-section scar stings like all hell also.  I talked to my OB about it today and he said that the pressure of the babies is going to make it sore but all he can do is say "better you than me!"  LOL...he has a sense of humor.  But he's right...not much can be done.  However, with an RNY scar like you have, maybe you should see your surgeon?

Hope it starts feeling better1
