yay! congrats!!!

You'll need to add some healthy whole grain carbs to your diet to make sure that you stay out of ketosis.

Make sure that they draw your labs frequently too to check your vitamin levels.

First off congrats!!!!!!!

I found out I was preggo at only 4 months post-op and that was barely 4 months. Everything will be okay. I'm going to tell you what my OB told me (and I am going to one of the best hospitals in my part of NY and they are very familar with RNY..even those early out).

First she told me to no longer fear carbs..in fact embrace them (healthy ones of course). Crackers, toast and fruit especially because those will help most with morning sickness. She also told me my blood work will have to be drawn every 2 months to stay ontop of my vitamin levels. And lastly she told me that all the talk about babys concieved before the 1 year mark being more prone to illness is not as true as some drs lead us to believe. Yes it is possible but she said not by more than maybe 1 or 2% and those are people who do not get adequate prenatal care. As long as you take your vitamins and stay out of ketosis you baby should be healthy. And also, the worry of underweight baby's, once again possible but also detectable so things can be done about it. So dont worry or stress, just grab some carbs and make an appt with a good OB.

In a world full of cheerios be a fruit loop!

Congrats!  Good luck!  :)  I don't know any advice- but you're in the right spot! I can't wait to have a baby, but we just can't afford it now- I realize we will probably never be able to afford it- but we're trying to wait a little longer till I have a job at least!  Congrats!  And good luck with everything!
