1st Year Stats and Lots of Pictures

I just got back from the kids well visit.  They are perfect.  Growing like weeds and on track for everything.   The Dr. had some choice words for me about my decision to not get the flu vaccine and not give it to the kids.  So now, of course, my husband wants me and the kids to get it.   I'm still not sure, but I have guilt flying from every direction.   I am thinking about it.

We also asked about spacing the MMR vaccine out (giving it in separate doses versus all lumped together).  The ped said that it doesn't exist like that (as far as he knows) in the USA, but then pushed hardcore for us to get it and get it now.   I have always stood by the decision that our kids will be getting it, so I guess they will be getting it non spaced out.  It has my nervous, but better they get vaccinated then get any of those diseases.   I'm not convinced at all that there is a connection between Autism and the MMR.  However, I'm sure if one of my children were autistic, I may have a different outlook.  Neither here nor there, because our minds are already made up that they are getting it.

So on to stats:

Dylan:
30 inches
19lbs 12 oz

She can walk with help, say a few words, crawls all over, and is just an all around firecracker.  She rules the house.

Jack:
29 and 3/4 inches (shhh don't tell him he's a tad shorter than his sister)
22lbs

He can walk with help, say a few words, crawls all over, and is also an all around firecracker.  He is ruled by his sister.  LOL

As soon as their jarred barf nasty food runs out, they are getting mommas home cooking.  I will adjust seasoning, but they will be eating what we eat.  The Dr. said I can feed them whatever I want including eggs and peanut butter.  I will hold off on shellfish until they are much older because I'm allergic.

That's their story.   Here are some long overdue pics for the non FBers.

Very cute....I love the difference in how they tasted the cupcakes.

Re the seafood...is it possible to have them tested (skin test) to see if they're allergic, just so you know if it's something you have to watch out for for them?

It's fun once they can eat 'real' food and seeing what they like and don't like.  I remember when my son was around that age...when he had eggs for the first time...he HATED them.  When you gave him a bite, he'd spit it out and shudder from head to foot. Pickles are also fun to let them try.  Have your camera ready to catch a picture of the faces they'll make.

Ahhh proud momma....they are so cute.  I know as far as the shots go I was very concerned.  I didn't do a lot of research but I hear that very young children can displays signs of autism, even before they would have had some of those shots...but I feel like you said- take a risk verse let them contract something horrible (not meaning the flu).  My little girl wasn't so keen on the cup-cake either....and cried when daddy put some on her.  Yes- my little one has had eggs, and peanut butter (very lightly)...and she doesn't have allergy issue with them, just doesn't like eggs.  Shellfish, Okay- I confess I a stupid about fish because I don't consume any seafood.but I think my little one had a bite of crab meat, because it was stuffed into a mushroom and a bite of crab cake both from her Pappy.  But- if anyone in my immediate family had allergies, I would withhold the food too.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!

My girls all got their shots on time on schedule. Riley got his newborn shots but then we delayed everything else until he was 18 months. Now he is getting them spaced out. My cousin's son has autism. She swears it was the MMR shot. He is 14 and back then there was thermarisol (spelling) in the shots.

My husband gets flu shots because he is a nurse but I will never get my kids them. I have been fortunate that my children are rarely sick and might change my mind if they had asthma or chronic illness.
