Is Pregnancy Heartburn even possible for post-RNY?

I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and today have a serious case of what I assume is heartburn but then I started thinking is this even possible since the acid in a stomach is produce by the pyloric valve and mine is not currently attached to my operational stomach (where the burn is by the way).

This sucks though.

I can not say that I have this problem since I have been on Protonix (sp?) for acid reflux before I ever had RNY and have been on it ever since.  Curious to see what answers you get.  I have heard that it is still possible but not sure how true that is.

I thought it was impossible too...boy was I wrong! I am using Tums...it helps the all night burning but i have also figured out what triggers it for me and those are no no foods!! Chinese and red sauce (marinara) can't stand the burning!!!

Most definitely!  I have had problems with acid reflux/heartburn for years, so I still take aciphex everyday and even take Tums when I am really having an issue.  I noticed that I have issues with nausea when I don't take the aciphex too.

I have been currently experiencing my first cases of heartburn in over 4 years (2 of which was before RNY)  I am hoping it is because I am PG i am DPO 11 right now.

Hope it's true!! You are just a day ahead of me! Here's to TWO BFPS!

I had TERRIBLE heartburn while I was preggo - I didn't think that it was possible either - guess I was wrong!

When I was pg with my son I had TERRIBLE heart burn, the only thing that gave me any relief was Gaviscon followed by 8 oz of water. That always did the trick. this was all pre-wls mind you but it might help some of yall.

Most def!
I didn't have any reflux from the day I was wheeled into surgery until about 10 months old... then all of a sudden it was wayyy worse than I've ever experienced! If I miss one pill I get it BAD! :(

OMG I had the worst heart burn being pregnant, and I am not even pregnant now and have had it bad the last few weeks.  It is definitely possible.  I took pepcid a lot while I was pregnant.
