Good news second ultrasound

Well, good news.  We had our second ultrasound Tuesday.  We did the 'sequential screening' thing b/c I'm over 35.  We saw and heard the heartbeat. We could see the head, arms. legs and baby flipped while we watched.  It was just so incredible.  By my calcs, we should be 11.5 weeks but dr says measuring 12.5.  This was a specialist fetal dr that did this test. I feel like 200 tons is off my shoulders now. We've been waiting 6 weeks since our first ultrasound in such anxiety.  We miscarried in March and we were so nervous.   I go see my OB today too. 

I have a 3.5 year old.  Though we aren't as nervous, we want to tell her first.  How did you tell your second bout the good news or did you wait? We haven't told anybody else other than here and my mom b/c of what happened in March.

Congrats!   Hannah was only 16 months old when I found out I was pregnant again, so I have no clue on how to tell and 3.5 year old.

CONGRATS!!!  My son was 2.5 when we got pregnant with his brother.  He actually found out before daddy because I had HIM tell daddy.  I just told him he was going to be a big brother because I had a baby in my belly.  He actually understood (waaaaaay more advanced than his little brother - LOL)  He was sooo excited.  I rented a doppler so that he could HEAR the baby in my belly and get a better understanding of what was going on.  I also bought him the book "I'm going to be a big brother!" or something like that.  He loved it!

Now, his little brother just turned 2.  He totally doesn't get that mommy has 2 babies in here.  He says it, but I don't think he gets it.  He lifts up my shirt and pokes my belly and says "BOOBIES!".  Not quite, kid!  LOL.  But if you ask him where the babies are, he will point to my belly.  That's about as far as it goes.  ha ha....
