Doing some serious baking!

Hey Guys,

Second opinions count! I feel so bad that I was 2 inches from giving up.. that trip to the ER just screwed me up. Well, went to the doctor. She told me that on Friday when I came in her office my HCG levels were 9881 Now.. lets do a rewind.... the DR at the ER told me my HCG levels were 5771 (and that this is low) which it isn't and that my cervix was open and the baby was trying to expel him/herself,. All of this was a BIG FAT LIE!  I am just so thankful that this was a Catholic Hospital I went to.. had it been anyone or anywhere else they could've and would've did a DNC and thats all she wrote. My doctor took more blood yesterday and told me to come back on 9/23 for an ultrasound. I just love all of you soooo much (maybe the preggo hormones but getting a little teary eyed as I type this at work) But seriously, it feels so good to come somewhere and to freely express yourself and not have someone be judgemental to you. All of you are so genuine and thats exactly what I need! I will come back around the 23rd and tell you guys how the ultrasound went.

Oh.. a little off topic but, I went to Walmart last night (they had Pringles for a dollar and a quarter) I got the Screaming Dill Pickle flavored ones.. OMG this tastes like a small piece of heaven..LOL (just wanted to share)

Since 2/12/08. I have went from 364 to 210. Thank You RNY!

I'm SO glad you got that second opinion!!!  And 5771 is NOT low.  I was 5 weeks and had 4000 and it was TWINS.
I'm so glad to hear that you and baby are doing well!!!!  Stay healthy and keep on baking, momma!!

Amen to what Sandy said- 5771 isn't a low number, it's actually high for early pregnancy.  I think mine was under 100 the fist lab draw...now that is low, and early.  Additionally, the number should have been higher on Friday like you indicated because the numbers are said to just about double every 48 hours (if I remember correctly).  My high risk Dr's won't even do u/s until they hit a certain level.  I am sure there are plenty of woman who could tell you what cervix feel like but I am not one that could ( try hard to keep my fingers out of body parts, LOL)...perhaps the Dr you got was just inexperienced in OB GYN issues.   The fact that your numbers have shown increase and that you are still feeling a tad barfy is great news..Keep baking--and let us know.
