1 Year Old Eats
My daughter refused all baby food at 9 mos. Since the doc said she could practice w/ Cheerios at 7 mos, she really just wanted to feed herself.
She has been eating cut up people food since then.
At 1 our pediatrician said there is nothing your baby can't eat except shellfish (some docs say to hold off on peanut butter etc, not ours). You should check with yours. They may have a different opinion.
It kind of depends on how many teeth they have. Laurel has well over 10 teeth. She bites and rips off pieces of bread, etc.
As far as food, here's a typical food day for her...
Breakfast
Canteloupe wedge cut up
1/2 multigrain English muffin w/ veggie cream cheese
Snack
6 oz milk before nap
Lunch
An oz of turkey
Mixed veggies
(not a big lunch eater)
Snack
6 oz Milk
Goldfish or Graham Crackers and cut up apple or pear
Dinner
Whatever we're having if it's not spicy
ie
Chicken
Veggies
Bread/Carb (she is not big on rice or noodles so she usually doesn't eat this)
Bedtime
6oz milk
We are lucky she likes veggies and fruit. Our problem is not getting her to eat. Something she unfortunately inherited from us. LOL.
She can use a spoon fairly well and is okay with a fork. I found it was easier for her and less messy for me when I let her eat with a fork.
Can't believe your babies are a year already!

Well, since pasta is out…lol
Emad loves the stuff so I can make all kinds and mix in pureed squash and other veggies in the sauce as well. How about rice or couscous, does she like that?
Emad loves food and even though I also made his baby food did not care for it. Some things he eats include, potatoes…mashed or oven baked, rices, pastas, pb&j sandwiches or grilled cheese, fruit cups, applesauce, yogurts, cheese sticks, hamburger or ground chicken patties (homemade), etc I also allow him to have apple juice, usually 6-8 oz in a day and other than that he drinks water, milk, or crystal light.
For him typical days meal some of his options are:
BF: (option of) Oatmeal, Cheerios, Toast Slice, Croissant , or Pancakes with a
Yogurt, ½ Banana or the mini banana
Snack Options (Any of the following):
Yogurt Drink (Yo Baby or Dannon)
Danino Yogurt
Goldfish Crackers
Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge
Lunch Options:
Gerber Graduate Meal (if no time to make anything) or
Pasta w/ Tomato Sauce
Homemade Mac n Cheese (I may mix in kosher hot dogs or ground beef/chicken)
Grilled Cheese
PB&J Toastie
Homemade Meatballs (Will usually serve with rice or pasta)
And an Apple Sauce or Fruit
Snack Options:
Gerber Fruit Snack
Graham Crackers w/ Peanut Butter
FF/SF Pudding
Dinner:
Usually eats what we have so Moroccan Tajine, grilled meat, rice, pasta, etc or an above option
You are an awesome cook so just play with it. I would try different things and they can eat what you guys eat with maybe a few adjustments for sodium and spices. Emad loves Moroccan food and breads too…lol
He has had some fish, white fish and tuna, but because of my allergy I have been cautious. Also he does not like milk so I sneak it in when I can and supplement with lots of cheeses, yogurts, etc
