1 Year Old Eats
I know this has been asked before, so make this million and 1.
The kids turn 1 tomorrow (sob sob sob) and I just started weaning them off formula. YAY! What are you guys feeding your 1 year olds? We didn't start the kids on solids until 6 months. Dylan is extremely picky and has food texture issues. Jack pretty much eats whatever I give him, but doesn't seem to really like chunky foods either.
At this point they only eat jarred baby food. Jack will eat most stage 3 foods, but Dylan doesn't touch the stuff. I made homemade pancakes a few weeks ago and gave each of them a little bit. They seemed to like it. Other than the pancake they have never had table food. (well technically they did because I made their food for the first 3 months so really it was table food. It was just pureed)
It's time. Well I think it's time for them to start expanding away from baby food. I'm not too worried about Jack, but I am worried about Dylan. The girl hates pasta so that's out. What else would be good at this point besides the obvious pieces of fruits and certain vegetables?

jayson eats just about anything.... eggs.. waffles... french toast... mashed taters ( both sweet and regular)... sweet potatoe fries ( you can bake them... they are easy for self feed) manderin oranges.... mac and cheese... soups..veggie is his fav.... grilled cheese ( i bake it instead of fry it in all that gunk) .... cherrios... cheese... small peices of lunch meat... cottage cheese... yogurt ( adult type.. the yo baby was stringy and it smelled) toast.. bread balls ( just rolled up bread) ... crackers... sometimes he will eat beans... but they make me nervous so i squish them first... meat protien is hard.. the more teeth they have the easier it will be....
Most things Lexa said and my 17 month old still eats baby food veggies, I figure if she eats them then its good to get them in. I also give her toast with jelly, peanut butter (All natural kind) and jelly (sugar free) sandwich, toddler Cheetos (they are small and don't have nearly as much fat as regular ones), ham & cheese sandwich, spaghetti O's, sugar free pudding or jello. Mine eats every single thing except she doesn't like any chunky meat still, so I ma**** but other than that she has never been picky. Good Luck trying new things, don't worry they will let you know if they don't like it.
Josiah is a few months behind them but check out http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/. They have some good recipes.
I made some turkey meatballs from their website and last night I made the broccoli cheddar nuggets which he will try tonight. He also eats cottage cheese, yogurt, chicken. My doc said it is ok to give him eggs but I am holding off for another month. I know I can do egg yolks... but he can wait. Oh, he has also eaten grilled cheese sandwiches. He loves that. (all organic of course)
btw, did you see that Earth's Best has a new fall line of food out?? I saw it at BRU the other day.

My daughter eats almost anything. We make dinner and give her what we are having. Only exception is that she does not get red meat, which we do not often consume. Otherwise, she gets it. So we may have turkey and stuffing, she eats that. We have pancakes, she eats that. She loves yogurt, graham crackers, turkey sausage, nutrigrain bars, jello, turkey dogs, regular sausages, fish, likes most veggies (except peas), most fruits. Right now we have been allowing her to have a small lunchable (usual eats 1/2 or 3/4 of it)for "school" lunch- because she can self feed those items. She likes peanut butter and jelly.I share my cereal in the morning sometimes with her. I think the only texture thing she will not accept is eggs...and I can't blame her, I hate them. Sometimes if she isn't sure what it is she'll chew it look at me and wait for me to say yummy, Sophie eat it. Sometimes it comes back out into her hand to look at it, but it is usual put back in to be finished. She has learned some basic sign language which has really helped with food..because if she really likes something she tells us more.
Good luck I am sure Dylan will let you know. Maybe she'll follow her brothers lead on real foods.

Holy hell how time flies!! It is just crazy, huh? I just got done making Libby's 1st birthday party invites, they are so freaking cute (or, at least I think so). I will have to post a picture later.
Anyway, I am so glad you posted this cause I have seriously been driving myself crazy about trying to figure how I am supposed to feed a one year old that only has 2.5 teeth. (hopefully that 3rd and 4th will finally be in by her 1st birthday cause they are driving me bonkers)

No advice really but I just wanted to say I think it's awesome you made their baby food. How did you do it? I found a recipe on how to make pureed veggies, but did you ever add chicken or anything?

I bought a steamer and used my food processor for the rest.
All I would do is steam the fruits or veggies, puree them with either some reserve cooking liquid (depending on what it was because some foods you shouldn't use the cooking liquid) or some water, and then store them in my little baby freezer cubes.
I would go to the local organic market, by what was fresh (sometimes I bought frozen) that week and go from there. By the time they were eating chicken and beef, they were already on Earth's Best jarred food since after 3 months they had it with mine.
I cannot wait for them to be off the jarred garbage and back on my home cooking.
