Sorry, TMI, but constipation has always been an issue for me since surgery, but it's only gotten worse since I got pg and started on the prenatals with extra iron. I've tried stool softeners and miralax without going. I'm sure it's making my nausea worse and not to mention my belly just hurts. Anyone else experiencing this or have suggestions??

Thanks.

before my MC I was so bound up. I ate 2 prunes a day and it worked great! Hope you feel better soon!

A pickle a day does it for me. The vinegar gets things going, but I never could just drink it straight...blech!

Try eating activia, it helps.  Also, liquid glycerin suppositories were my best friend for a while there.  You can get them at Walgreens and are amazing!!

My doctor told me today that colace or milk of magnesia is safe to take while pregnant. I would call and ask your doctor what they recommend. I am having the same issue.

I start most days with a protein smoothie with 2 scoops of benefiber. That keeps me pretty regular. I also eat vinegar in alot of stuff. Pepperocinis, pickles, olives and rice vinegar with my stir fry. That also helps quite a lot. Good luck to you and your bowels!

OMG, i have the same problem...only i havent even been able to figure out how to help it good enough so therefore i am not even taking prenatals yet! :(  Im so worried but i dont know what to do.  I am on progesterone so if i even strain the slightest bit while going, my cervix starts bleeding...pretty bad too.  I have a doctors appt on thursday and will be finding out what in the heck i can do because i obviouslyshould be taking the vitamins.  Its like, how do i choose though between the vitamins to keep the baby healthy and the bleeding cervix which can end in miscarriage?  I am taking benefiber three times a day and so far that has made just a little difference but not enough.  Dont know what else to do.  If you find some great miracle, please share :O)

My OB and surgeon told me I could skip every other day to help with the constipation and it did.  That, and I eat a lot of fiber.

Good luck!
