My Mom was just here and told me to get them. She is a nurse so it has a little more weight than Mom's worry. She reminded me that the H1N1 could kill me if I was preggers and got it. She didn't say anything about the regular flu tho other than get it since I am TTC. I am going to talk to my PCP about it since I have never gotten the flu or the shot *hopes the computer desk is real wood since I am knocking on it* and I am worried about getting and getting sick from it. I would talk to someone and do tons of thinking about it.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

I have an appt. with my OB next week and will ask her about this.  I plan to get the Flu vaccine, but not the H1N1.  It would be good to here what the physicians you work with have to say, so please let us know.

I got mine last year when I was pregnant with Matthew....but it was towards the middle of my 2nd or 1st part of my 3rd trimester. ....I can't remember.  But, my ob was all for it saying that the immunity will be passed to matthew because he can't get a flu shot until he's 6 months old.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I will be getting the flu shot. Not so sure about the N1H1 vaccine at this time.

Since I work in a hospital, I just need to have the vaccine in my system. Plus, if there were a breakout of the flu, I would have to be in islolation precautions because I had not received a vaccine. Since working in a hospital, you get a exposed to lots of germs so we don't catch much, but I want to be cautions. Plus, physician's highly recommend if you are pregnant or going to get pregnant to have the vaccine, so why not!

I got it when I was pregnant.

Also, both kids got it last year, and will be getting it again this year.

I was just about to post the same question.  I think I will wait til the beginning of my 2nd trimester in October to get it.  My OB said it was safe in the first trimester, but I just want to wait.  I do not want the swine flu vaccine though.

Hi.  Today at my OB's office, I questioned the Dr. on this.  She told me that I should schedule the appointment today to get both, the flu and H1N1 vaccine.  She said it should be done around the end of the month.

I hope this helps!

I'm so happy you asked this question Tracey.  I go to my OB today and was on my list to ask her but more particularly the swine flu.  I don't want either vaccine and never had one either. I really hope I don't have to and everything is fine.  Please let us know what your RE says. THanks!
