Question about luteal phase.
Oh and my first child was a surprise so this will be our first time trying to concieve.
The average length of the human luteal phase is fourteen days. Between ten and sixteen days is considered normal, although luteal phases of less than twelve days may make it more difficult to achieve pregnancy. While luteal phase length varies significantly from woman to woman, for the same woman the length will be fairly consistent from cycle to cycle.
i would suggest getting an ovulation test sold by the pregnancy test it will test the levels of hormones in your body at the time you think you are ovulating (not sure which method you are going by to calculate your ovulation i have never heard of fertility friend) i googled it and the only sure way to know is measure your hormone levels (ovulation test kit or dr can assist)
Progesterone plays a vital role in making the endometrium receptive to implantation of the blastocyst and supportive of the early pregnancy; it also has the side effect of raising the woman's basal body temperature.
good luck and hold off on the fertility aids your body went through major changes and that means hormone changes as well with your surgery and weight loss, your body may just need some more time, I am not even allowed to think about getting pregnant till i am at least 18 months out according to the dr

I'd wait to see if your LP and your cycles normalize a bit more once most of your weight is gone, that happens to a lot of us once the weight is off. But If your LP is still short when you ttc next Feb, I would suggest talking to your doctor and getting on some progesterone supplements like I did to extend your LP. Otherwise, it might take a while for you to get pg or you might have some uneccessary miscarriages.
