I still don't know how far along I am!

I had an appointment scheduled to see my ob/gyn for my yearly pap smear and exam for this past Friday. Since, I got my bfp, I called the office a few days before my appt. to let them know that I had tested positive on several hpts. and didn't know how far along I was since my cycles have been anywhere from 35-40 days since May and my last period was super light and only lasted 4 days (which is what happened when I discovered I was pregnant with Nick).....thinking they would schedule an ultrasound to determine how far along I really am. Well, the receptionist tells me that I will not need to come in since my ob/gyn sees pregnant patients for the first time at 8 weeks. I don't remember her having this policy when I was pregnant with Nick. I asked her about bloodwork and a prescription for prenatals, she said she could get me in to see a nurse on the 10th. So I really still haven't had a doctor confirm my pregnancy but after 5 dollar tree tests, and 2 Answer brand tests...I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant ;-)

I took the last Answer test this morning... just to make sure I was still pregnant since I don't have any symptoms except tiredness..which I'm always tired anyways hahahaha.....anyways, the test line immediately showed up and is really darker than the control line. My first test lines were dark but not as dark as the control line.

Hopefully on the 10th I'll have a better idea of how far along I actually am. It is kind of frustrating not knowing.

Sucks having to wait...had I known the policy I would be tempted to fudge the numbers and then play innocent if otherwise...lol

Sorry April.  It was my idea that you call them.   My ob wouldn't see my this time until I was 8 weeks, but I did  stop by to have blood work.  I had low progesterone with Hannah and the thought of waiting 8 weeks to have anything done freaked me out.
Let us know what you find out this week!

No problem... If I hadn't called, I probably would have been told to reschedule when I got there anyways and her office is 25 miles from me....the whole thing is kind of silly though... I already had an appt. They could have at least let me come in for the script and blood work. .... Oh well.

I was in your same boat... I had no idea how far along I was and it was killing me!! I think i'd be calling back and speaking with a nurse to see if you can get in for an ultrasound for dating. I would just tell them that your last period was in May.....

i'm so sick of doctors offices and their staff being inconsiderate.... it's not like they aren't getting paid to work for you! Sorry little rant there....

I completely understand.... I tried explaining to her what was going on about not knowing and the receptionist cut me off in mid sentence and said that they'll figure it out when I get there on the 10th. Which I understand she isn't a medical professional but at least let me get it all out before answering/commenting. The receptionists attitude doesn't sit well and hopefully is not a prelude to the next 9 months...otherwise, I will have to switch docs!!
