Update on me...
Hi ladies,
So Holly tried to 'ping' me on the radar. I thought I would post a brief update.
Marriage: Good. Approaching our 1 year 'wedding' anniversary on 10/4. Jeramie started going to school FT on 8/31. He is going for Electro Optics and Mathematics. He has a really full course load, Algebra, Chemistry, Physics and Prelude to Physics. So currently he isn't working... he might do something PT once he gets a good handle on his courses.
Job hunt: Got a job doing Customer Service. It is only a temporary position until the construction season dies down and then they won't need me anymore. Unless they find something else for me in the company. It will help get my foot back into the corporate world after being out of it since 1/07. I am still working my crappy waitress job... but reduced it down to 3 nights a week. I don't babysit anymore... THANK THE LORD! The dad was such a jerk, I couldn't take it anymore.
Kids: All the kids are good. They went back to school on 8/26. I was very happy. Ethan went home on 8/20... well he went to Lousiana, where his mother moved to be with her boyfriend she threw out at the end of last year. He was going to stay with us, but she changed her mind. Not to mention things are a bit different here at our house than at hers. Like we don't allow the kids to play video games all day, nor do we allow the TV to be watched excessively and our kids have chores to do daily, and our kids had their TV in their rooms removed until they earned them back. As of last week, she still didn't have him enrolled in school. Jer also told her she needs to get his hearing checked, because the kid cannot hear you. He even told Jer that he reads lips to understand people. This could be contributing to his speech impediment. ****** me off, too... we could have gone to get his hearing checked if she had sent his insurance information like we had requested. Grrrrrr!
Sydnee is doing good. She turned 19 months old on Friday. She is a tiny terror lately. She has mastered the technique of temper tantrums. LOL She pulled one in Sam's Club a few weeks ago... a lady heard her all the way in the back and we were in front of the registers. She is still very petite and her appetite is improving lately. She wasn't interested in eating much the past few weeks. She had a nasty head cold and it infected her eyes and caused her to be quite the pill. She is going to be going to my friends house 4 days a week while I am at work and Jer is at school. She will be with my friend less than 20 hours a week, so I think it will work out ok.
Anyway... that's my update. Still working on the weightloss. I feel I start out good on things and then I just drop off. I really need to focus. My next attempt will be the gym before work every morning. Gym opens at 5:30am and I want to be there at 5:30 and done at 6:30 and then shower and get ready at the gym, and be at work by 8am. We'll see how that pans out for me. LOL My eating hasn't been horrendous lately. I think I have lost a few lbs. I need to get out my Wii and check for sure. I am positive it is at least 5lbs.
Congrats to new mommies, newly preggos, and new peeps to the board. I am on facebook more than here due to the fact I can do it via my phone... so add me if you want.
Hugs

Thanks for the update. I know it can't be easy for you right now w/Jer in school and you working two jobs...but hang in there. In the long run, it will benefit your entire family w/him being through school and hopefully getting a better job...and you getting back into the corporate world and away from the waitressing, which I'm sure is hard work...especially if you're still having trouble w/the boss.
Isn't it illegal for Ethan's mom to not have him enrolled in school? Is there any way to get a social worker to step in and get him in school...and force his mom to get his hearing tested? That can't be easy for him, not being able to hear properly. I'm sure it was a big adjustment for him to come to your house with rules. I used to have a friend w/a son who at that time was about 5 (mine was 1 1/2), and he loved to watch power rangers. My son was never allowed to watch them, and my friend was amazed when he'd just go away and no****ch them. She'd ask how I could keep him from watching things I didn't want him to see. I just looked at her and said, 'Ummm....I turn off the TV?' I don't think that ever dawned on her to try that? And 5 years old is a little late to start trying it...not impossible, but not as easy as when they're little. Overall...I'm sorry Ethan's mom changed her mind and wanted him back. Ethan's the one who will miss out in the long run...having a dad who cares for him and wants the best, plus having a 'bonus mom' who is also a loving mom and accepts him and cares for him. (I heard the term 'bonus mom' the other day in one of my magazines...I like it better than 'step mom.')
So Syd's entering her terrible twos, huh? Just look at it as developing her personality...and try not to laugh at her when she's throwing a fit. I always found standing my son in the corner was the most effective way of ending a tantrum...but I guess it depends on how head-strong they are as to whether it works.
Thanks for checking in and letting us know you're OK. Don't be a stranger!
