So I have recently begun feeling the joys of being pregnant....morning sickness. Whoever named it that was evil cause mine last straight through the day. Can anyone give me some tips on how to subdue the feelings or any remedies that have worked for them? I am getting desperate and will try anything. I can barely even eat lately because it is so bad (but I am not throwing up thankfully). I've basically been living off of chocolate milk lately and I can't add protein to them as they make me gag something horrible.

Also, if anyone has any tips on how to get better sleep I would appreciate that too. I can't lay on my back or I feel sick, same with my tummie which is how I usually sleep. I've been trying on my side but I end up rolling onto my tummie. And I've also tried a body pillow behind me, a regular pillow between my knees, one under my tummie and one under my head. This way has been working best but I am beginning to feel trapped in my bed and my fiance is going crazy with the amount of pillows joining us in bed.

Eating often is only thing that helped me. I found out the sick feeling just got worse the more I would hold off on eating. I eat every 2-3 hours whether its crackers or crackers with peanut butter or I have been eating half sandwiches. I just eat whatever is it that sounds good. Which was never much at all in the begining. Good thing you can get the milk, I became lactose intolerant after surgery which was no fun finding out. :)
I still cant sleep so cant help you on that. I have insomnia normally so this is just making life awful now since not anything good to take every night to help. I went to bed at 230 last night went pee 2 or 3 times dont remember and I had to be up at 530 to get my kids to school. No naps for me since insomnia follows through during the day for me also.
I have tried meds to help with feeling sick but neither of the normal ones helped me out much. I have tried the over the counter sleep stuff too like benadryl and unisom they suggested but thats not so great for me either. I am lucky with that,

I feel sleep though at least I should not get used to as when the baby gets here I will not be sleeping much anyway but I am hoping I find a miracle position or something for a little rest.

Hope it gets better for you. Also I would try the zofran cause even when I was in the hospital last week they said that one is the best!!

Thanks for the advice. I am sorry your having trouble sleeping too. I wish I could help you out. I can fall asleep but have trouble staying asleep or sleeping comfortably enough to feel like I slept any.

And I will def ask about the zofran when I have my doc appt on the 11th. I just hope I can survive until then.

Simply Sleep (the sleep aid in Tylenol PM) is safe to use during pregnancy and is the only sleep aid that works for me.   I have only had to use it once and it worked wonderfully.

I also am having the nausea for about 10 days now.   I can eat food and gag water down (but only like 32 oz/day), but it's so hard sometimes to just eat something.   I have been eating a lot of ritz crackers when I get gaggy and that helps some.  I ordered some Ginger flavored Altoids online last week and I swear those worked really well at taming down my nausea with my last pg.   I can't wait till my order gets here!  They say that the ginger helps with nausea, motion sickness- just nauseau in general and I believe it!

Preparing dinner for my family is just pure torture for me right now!!!!  I just want to eat bland stuff all the time like cereal (with just a splash of milk on it), toast, and yogurt.   I hate feeling like this, but this is how it was with my other two pregnancies.   I have to just keep telling myself that this is just temporary, but it's hard just to get through each day when you feel like crap!!! Good luck!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

I am soooo scared of sleep aids (cause I heard some cause night eating). Also I dont need anything to help me fall asleep, just stay asleep. Will that help with that issue do you know?

I think I am def going to go out and get some crackers. I am going to try nd eat them with pb though cause my protein I know is in the toilet. I have tried diet ginger ale, its sucks so I am going to get some real ginger ale and some ginger tea or just make some myself. Whatever it takes!

Hope you feel better soon.

Anything with ginger in it should help with the nauseous feeling- ginger snaps, ginger ale, whatever. Also like someone else said eating smaller amounts or whatever you can more frequently will help too. And please get the Zophran!! It was my life saver. I felt like a drug addict at times because I was popping them all the time but they definitely work!! Hope you get to feeling better soon!

I basically lived off of dry cereal for the first trimester. Just try having carbs on hand at all times and munch throughout the day to avoid the "all-day" sickness! That and a prescription from my OB (I forget the name of it) helped me w/ my nausea. It finally calmed down around 18-20 weeks. I feel really great now! I just have to pee all the time rather than puke! LOL!!!

lol. I would soooo rather to have to pee around the clock then this sickness. I am going to ask about the med zofran when I go in for my u/s on the 11th. And I guess I am going to have to do what I've been avoiding and eat wayyyy more carbs because this feeling is killing me. All I want to do is lay in bed all day and sleep (which I cant do either) cause I feel so horrible.

Good luck!
