Future preganancy question

From what I've read and heard from my doctor they prefer you wait until your 12-18 months post op before becoming pregnant, but my question is are you supposed to wait until you've lost all of your excess weight? I am currently 7 1/2 months post op and a little over half way to my goal. I've lost 109 pounds, but still want to lose an additional 98 pounds. I am currently 34 years old and will soon be 35. My husband and I want to have another child, but I'm trying to figure out the timing. I don't want to wait too long since my age will put me at higher risk, but I also want to lose as much of my excess weight as possible. I'm just not sure that I'll be at my weight goal by the time I'm 12 months out. Any advise ladies? Thanks.

depending on how you do and where you are at Dr's will reccomend different things - mine said 18-24 months. You don't want to be in ketosis and you want your weight to have stabilized.

Like the PP said, wait until you're stable with your weight.  6-12 months(more) can feel like forever, but take advantage of the tool you've got now.  You'll be much healthier to carry a healthy pregnancy and chase after your little one if you do, despite the age.  Good luck!
