36 week sonogram and 35/5 appt.
So update on things...
On friday I had my 35/5 week appointment and as they had said before they are concerned b/c of our lovely family history of big babies that he was getting to large. So they are talking about inducing and everything ... yada yada yada...
So today I went for a sonogram at 36w 1d and he's weighing in at about 6lbs. 4 oz. That's really not that big. My sister was born at 36 weeks and she was 9lbs. 1oz. so.... maybe we have dodged that bullet. The concern though is that he isn't growing in any form of a pattern. At 6 weeks he was 2 weeks behind in size, at 12 weeks the gap had closed to about 1 weeks and by 19 weeks he was just 2 days behind. At 31 weeks he was in the 75% and 4 pounds so they thought he was rapidly gaining, but in 5 weeks he's only gained 2 pounds.
Everything I keep reading says .5-1lb per week is normal and he's still below that.
What has me concerned is my weight gain/loss. I origionally dropped about 22 pounds. I regained up to 24 but now am down 6 (from where I started). My OB keeps refering to this as my metabolic issues and seems concerned to how they may affect Tristan. My BP has been fine and I am still not a diabetic (was pre-op) but now I am struggling to keep my bloodsugars up.
Can these crazy fluctuations in me be causing these growth "problems" in him?
Just looking for advice in any way shape or form...

Keep in mind an ultrasound at 36 weeks or so can be off by a pound either way. As for if your weight gain/loss issues have affected the baby, don't know for sure. Hope someone can help you with this question.

Any issue eating could affect the baby (diabetic, not eating enough, eating too much)...However, please keep in mind they are usually just guesstimates on weight. I had my last u/s around 38 weeks (I was monitored so much because of being WLS patient and not gaining lots of weight) but I was told she'd be around 6 pounds. I was a little scared- seemed small but they assured me everything looked A okay. She was just over 8 pounds and born 1 day past my due date due to long labor. So- I was prepared (mentally) for a tiny baby- nope. When they were guess her weight during the c-section (cause they could see her)...I was so confused cause I heard multiple people guess 8 pounds something- I couldn't reason (partly drug related I'm sure) who's baby they thought was over 8 pounds. HA- Mine, cause she was. BTW the anast. had the best guess. (the most non baby related person in the room!). Good luck and try not to worry to much.
