When did you have to start wearing maternity clothes? When I was pg 5 years ago, I weighed 250 lbs, and didn't show until sometime after 20 weeks. I'm currently 9wk4 days, and my waistbands are already tight. I haven't really gained anything yet, but things are a bit uncomfortable. I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that it's okay to gain some now!

I remember feeling really bloated the first trimester and saying goodbye to all my jeans for awhile.  I say go with elastic or comfort waistbands, use a rubber band or Bella band to extend the life of your current pants and move into maternity clothes whenever it feels most comfortable.

I had to go buy a new wardrobe at 9w...I know it's twins but they were so little and my belly got so big!  I think we just expand easier with subsequent pregnancies.

I started wearing maternity clothes around week 12 when my pants just weren't comfy anymore. Now at 16 weeks I only wear my normal yoga pants and PJ shorts. Other than that it's all maternity gear for me...at least the bottoms. I still wear alot of my old shirts cause they run long anyway and show off the BUMP nicely...I'll admit it. I love my bump!

Well, this is my fourth pregnancy, but it's my first pregnancy since WLS.  This time around, I guess because my stomach wasn't huge already, I had to start wearing maternity clothes at about 10 weeks.  At first I just borrowed some bigger clothes, but eventualy, they were too big every where but the belly.   I gave in and bought maternity clothes.  None of my maternity clothes fit from my previous 3 pregnancies, but I'm not complaining.  You will notice things a lot sooner with your 2nd pregnancy.  And I know what you mean about adjusting to gaining.  I am having a really hard time with it!!!  Good luck and keep us updated!

this is my first pg post op, but my 3rd pregnancy and I'm already having to wear maternity pants.   The area around my bellybutton is poking out and is really sensitive if there is any pressure from pants on it- and I'm only 8 weeks!!   And I haven't gained any weight so far either.  With my first, I was 215 and didn't show till about 20 weeks and with my 2nd, I wore maternity clothes around 10 weeks and was 265 to begin with.

My Mom and I went out yesterday and she bought me a pair of medium jeans (8/10) with a full belly panel in them and I love them!!  I just love the fact that I can go into any store now and pick out most anything maternity and it fits- because I am normal sized now!!!  I had to special order my maternity clothes off lanebyrant.com with the last one because I was so big (270) and couldn't find ANYTHING that fit me!!  Most of my plus sized maternity clothes weren't even cute either.   Now I can get cute, normal sized stuff to wear for this pg and I'm so happy.  It's so great!!!!!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!
