SO glad that it resolved itself and you are home and taking care of that little man and your family again!!
I have a very good friend that had the same experience. She went to the local ER diagnosed with a bowel obstruction - was transferred to the hospital where she had her surgery to have it recitified and it had resolved itself. That was at least a year ago and no reoccurance.
Hope that this is a once and done deal for you too!
Rest well

UGH! I'm so glad you followed your instincts and went to the hospital. BO's are nothing to ignore (not trying to scare you).
I have 2 hernias and this was an issue once, but resolved itself. And yes, it felt like what I imagine is a slow and painful death. Do you have to follow up with a gastroenterologist? I would highly suggest you book an appointment, if you don't already have one.
For me, my hernias are large enough that there isn't really a risk of recurrence or strangulation. I have to be careful about how much fiber and water I get though, and I can't let myself become constipated or it's pretty bad.
Again, I'm not trying to scare you, but definitely follow up with a GE or your WLS surgeon. Glad you found some relief and are home with your family now!
Hugs,

Yes , this happened to me!!!!! I had my son on 8/4/09 and had to have emergency hernia repair 8/8/09. The hernia pain was worse than the labor pain !!!!! My CT revealed a spiral loop in the small bowel and they called the bariatric surgeon who rushed in at 6am on a Sat! I was able to go home the same day thankfully, but my body never allowed me nurse after that. My surgeon said it could happen again but in a different area. He reinforced the muscle structure to ensure good healing.
