I THINK it was okay--as long as you aren't lifting too much, driving too long, or still on pain killers....

I may be wrong as I was pretty drugged up after my c-section(they morphined the heck outta me)

I remember driving with Libby was just 8 days old.  I had to go to the post office, no if, ands or buts about it!  So, I did.  I say, as long as you are not heavily drugging yourself and you have the ability to turn to look behind you and feel in control then go ahead.

To be honest with you...I had my c-section on Sunday night and the Monday after I was disharged I drove myself to have my staples removed.  I would say as long as your not taking pain meds and you feel up to it your probably fine.

I had my c-section on a Friday...was released on Monday and drove us to the follow up appt on Thursday.   My husband is legally blind so I had no choice but I had very little pain and was not taking pain meds except to sleep at night.

When I had my c-section 4 years ago my doc said no driving for 6 weeks and it was from date of surgery. They said two reasons one pain meds and two if you were in an accident you could really be hurt worse with just having gone through major surgery.

Hi Beth

Congratulations on the birth of your son!!!

Should be 2 week from the day you was discharged. Buit call the docs office or the hospital to confirm.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hey Beth,
My dr said as soon as I wasn't taking the heavy duty drugs and when I could turn around and look behind me, like when backing out, it was fine.  Can't remember when I did though, I was in a fog for those first few weeks:)

The doctor told me 2 weeks from surgery OR whenever I felt comfortable twisting so that you can look behind you. I waited a little over a week. I didn't take pain meds when I got home, so I didn't have to worry about it. I would say that if you feel comfortable - go for it.
