Have a few questions! and a woohooo!

1. Okay first of all did anyone feel "lost" after coming home with the baby? Kind of like the build up for Christmas and then once the presents are open...what comes next? It is actually getting a little better but I was just wondering if anyone else ever felt that???

2. Breastfeeding and baby gas? My little man seems to have really bad gas at night and since it has been many years for me I was wondering what is being used if anything these days to help? Nights are horrible and will do anything to help the little man not be in so much pain. My ped says Milicon is not proven to work!??

3. Your favorite fiber help? I was thinking something chewable but not sure which one is best and taste the best? I take Colace but I am not sure if that is good nursing with the baby long term? They gave it to me in the hospital so it can't be bad but wanted to try something else.

My woohoo moment was getting on the scale, I had ended up gaining right at 40lbs and at one week and 3 days I have lost 29lbs of that!! I could not be happier about that!!!

Thanks for reading this far and thanks for any and all help!!
Hugs
Beth

Congrats on the babe and the weight loss.
1- I didn't feel the lost feeling so much, I just really missed being pregnant.  I very quickly forgot that I had the world worst headaches during my entire pregnancy and started thinking about when I could start for baby number 2.

2-I read that the gas drops don't work, but I used them anyway and they seemed to help.  Many moms swear by Gripe Water.  I never used it so I have no idea if it works.

3-Benefiber, I mixed it in with anything and everything and it never tasted bad.  When I was pregnant every morning I had a glass of chocolate skim milk and benefiber.

 Hi Beth,

I really don't have any advise as I'm a FTM.  I was just checking in to see how you were doing!  Awesome on the 29lbs!  I think I'm about to top out at 40lbs as well and hoping it comes off as quickly as it is for you!

Take care!

Hey Beth!
I finally have a few seconds while Zach is sleeping.
1. I didn't feel that way, just had anxiety like crazy!
2. I think the Mylecon really does work.  But maybe it is in my head.  But when you add it to formula that is alittle bubbly, it takes the bubbles out.
3. The constipation was worse than the c-section.  Do whatever it takes to not get constipated!  Pistaccios work and so do cherries for me.
Congrats on the weightloss!!  My body seems to love my weight now and I have only lost about 12 of the 38 lbs.  Don't know what else to do, but my body will not budge!  Wondering if it is hormones or something because I am trying to start my period but it keeps starting and stopping.  Just wi**** would get it over with and get here already!
Can't wait to see more pictures!

Hey There,

1.  I missed being pregnant.... it was all about ME when I was pregnant and the excitement (as you said) and then after having the baby it was about HIM.  (Don't get me wrong, I love Cooper! It was just a shift in thinking)  So I kinda get what you're talking about.

2.  I think the gas drops help with gas in the TUMMY.  Intestinal gas comes from the digestive process further down the tract and the gas drops don't help that.  That is all due to bacteria in the baby's gut reacting with the formula/breast milk.  For Cooper gas drops helped with some of the spitting up....but my breast milk did not agree with him (either my diet or my vitamins).  Formula still gives him gas, but not as much as breast milk did !

3.  I used Colace on my doctor's advice due to my episiotomy --- although I only used it 6 weeks.  He said no problem with breastfeeding.  I also upped my water and my fat (but upping fat with my surgery results in looser stools).

Good Luck!

1. I had the same feeling with Zoe and got horrible PPD, I already talked with my doctor and told him before I leave the hospital I want to be put on a  Antidepressant. I wish I had some advise and something to make you feel better, just know your not alone and I felt the same way. I would talk to your doctor about it, I know for me it just got worse and worse.

2.  I love the Milicon drops! I used them with both of my others kids and I think they work wonders. I have two bottles on stand by if Nicky needs them.

3. Sorry no advice in this dept.

Congrats on the weight loss, that is amazing! I hope I have the same results.

Not too many answers for ya. I used colace after birth with my kids also but you know that was with the dinosaurs also. :) I used the mylicon drops with both boys and it made it better for them. It may not help with everything but it does help.

CONGRATS on the weight loss. I am so proud of you!!

1. Yes, I felt that way.  Then I had the baby blues and became a total mess for a few weeks.

2. I don't know if the mylicon helped.  I gave it to him anyways.  I tried the gripe water and something else...I can't remember.  I added it to his formula and that took the bubbles away in that aspect, but he was still fartin' up a storm.  But I think it works for tummy gas...

3. PEARS.  OMG, I ate a pear one day and definitely got the pipes running again.  I've been scared to eat them ever since and only do when I'm plugged!

And WHOO HOO is right!  Congrats on that!!

hi, im a mom aready and new to a pregnancy thanks to my rny.

1 when my son was born i was terrified of him, and wondering where the instructions were

2  gasis super normal i used the mycoin drops, worked great, if you are breast feeding, make sure what you are eating doesnt cause gas because remember what you eat he eats too, so avoid spicey foods and things like broccoli because they can and prob will upset his tummy too

3 i prefer bennifiber itmixes with as spoon and is tastless

good luck
