Triplets have arrived!!!
Ok Ladies.....
This will be a long one......THE TRIPLETS ARRIVED TUESDAY 8/18/09 @ 8:59am 9:00am and 9:01am via C-section.
Rewind to Thursday the 13th...had blood work done and 24 hour urine for the beginning of preeclampsia. My doctor called me Friday morning with the results at 7 am and said that I had two options. 1. I could either be admitted and be monitored at the hospital or 2. I could stay home in my own bed and continue the monitoring from home and if ANYTHING changes to call him. Well I picked option #2. Then Friday night I started vomitting out of nowhere. DH called the Dr and he said for me to come to the hospital and to bring my bags because I wasn't going home until the babies arrive.
Get to the hospital they start the IV do bloodwork, the whole shabang....Dr. Order another 24 hour urine to check my protein levels and the gave me the rescue dose of steriods for the babies. (Had two previous doses about 3 weeks prior) I was feeling miserable but it was still bearable. Sunday my urine came back at 700 for protein and it was previously 495 on Friday. Its supposed to be less then 160. My platelets started to drop also. So Monday morning we had a meeting with my OB and Maternal Fetal OB and they decided that my labs are starting to tank and instead of having this be an emergency they were going to schedule my C-section for Tuesday morning 7:45.
Its now Tuesday morning...walk into the OR get my spinal. About 500 people in there...they made incision and thats when all hell broke lose. I started shaking and vomit ting which is not easy to do when you are flat on you back with 3 people digging in your abdomen and having no feeling from the boobs down!!!
Abigail was born at 8:59am weighing in at 3 lbs 15 oz
Michael was born at 9:00am weighing in at 4 lb 5 oz
Nicholas was born at 9:01am weighing in at 4 lbs 6 oz
All are doing great!!!! Nicholas needed some help from the CPAP machine for about 12 hours but other then that they are all doing GREAT!!!! The doctors in the NICU are so shocked that none of them need to be intubated or any other breathing help. They all have feeding tubes just to make sure they are getting the nutrition that they need to grow. Abigail and Nicholas are under the Bilirubin lamps but if thats all they need then we are VERY VERY lucky.
I cam home yesterday without the babies but that's ok.....they need to be in the NICU. I also need my rest before they come home. I am healing well was out of bed walking the halls on Wednesday morning at 6am.
I am actually going to go rest now as I am tired so I will post more later.
Thanks for all the prayers and words of wisdom during my pregnancy!!!
