Giving Water to an infant / Dillouting Formula (long)
Cooper needs no help in the BM department. I appreciate your advice and I wish I could help my Pez baby -- but I have had no further dreams about it!
Thanks!

Sounds like Cooper is going through a growth spurt...just be flexible it won't last and it will be off an on. But it does sound like Daddy needs to find his way in the soothing department :) Which i'm sure he will. My hubby watches Zachary a lot during the week and he's adapted quite well.
Cooper is a doll!!! So handsome!!!
Thanks for the advice!

I am not alone, neither are you.
Doctor just said keep his formula between 18 and 32 oz which like I said we are on the upper limits of.
Cooper obviously never read the book!
Thanks for your feedback!

Another vote agains****er and diluting. Risks far outweigh any benefits, unless specifically prescribed by a pediatrician. Encourage your DH to use a binky for soothing if Cooper still fusses after being fed. Sometimes the sucking is most soothing, which can be why they seem to want another bottle.
IMHO, if you are over feeding Cooper, he would be spitting up and vomitting. With all 3 kids, I've always been able to tell when they've drank too much (and it's always after the fact). I don't follow the book with infant feedings, never have. I follow the baby's lead. Everett's very good about signaling when he's hungry. He starts rooting, hands go near his mouth and if I kiss his cheek, he turns toward me with an open mouth. My other kids also did similar things when they were hungry. Kind of helps give me a few minutes to get the bottle ready before it's all-out crying.
Personally, I wouldn't worry much about giving him too much formula. Cooper looks healthy (and cute) and is growing. He'll let you know when he's full!

So I guess that much is too much...
We are using the binky more... I want my baby to be healthy, but don't want a 28 lbs 4 month old!
Thanks for the advice!

It still amazes me how much I am learning about being a first time mommy- this weeks lession what is constipation. (At 33 I thought I knew.nope!). Good luck- and keep asking for advise- I know we all learn from the questions. Oh-- and it doesnt sound like he gets way to much to eat- I knew someone (through family- thankfully I never laid eyes on them or I probably would have said things) that were first time parents and did the old give them milk to calm them down...at 6 months the baby was near 30 pounds (he's tall but WOWIE). I said its more like a toddler.
I hope I never have to deal with constipation ! (But I probably will!)
I really appreciate all the advice I get here! I sometimes feel like all most posts on mommying are "Off Topic" to this forum.... but everyone here is so wonderful!
If Cooper keeps growing at the rate he is (I know he probably won't) he'll be 28 lbs at 4 months!
I'd just like him to stay as he is for a couple of months! :-)
Thanks for your input!
