OT: Grandpa passed away
Hi everyone-- just wanted to check in and let you know that my Grandpa passed away early this morning.
He had been in the hospital because he was retaining fluid (about 40lbs) and he had congestive heart failure. Well they drained all his fluid and he was set to come home this weekend and then one of the techs dropped him on the floor trying to move him by himself. This tech was warned not to move him alone (My grandpa weighed probably 400lbs +)
My grandpa fell and hit his head on the floor which caused a brain bleed- The hospital did emergency surgery late last night and then he passed early early this morning. He was 88 years old.
Some of you may remember that my Dad passed away almost 2 years ago when I was pregnant with Zachary and then my grandpa passed away 1 month after Zach was born and now this. The past two years have just been really hard and I suffer from post traumatic stress from when my Dad died. Over the next few days I'll have a rush of emotions... as my Grandpa's funeral/showing/burial will be in the same exact place that my dad's was. I ask that you keep me and your family in your thoughts if you can.
I feel like the black plague... everytime I get pregnant I lose people very close to me.... people have mentioned this to me... and it's weighing on my mind :(

I am so sorry for you loss(es) Kyle. I can only imagine how difficult this time must be and all of this is probably re-opening some old wounds. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Any action being taken against the tech who blatantly disobeyed orders and moved your grandpa w/o supervision and assistance?

I am so sorry Kyle Beth. I too lost someone very important to me during my pregnancy with Kaden and thought very hard about the connection between life and death in my life. I almost lost my dad when I was pregnant with Bryson and was completely freaked out by it. I think of my aunt as being Kaden's special angel, as she probably got to meet him before he was born, and she probably watches out for Bryson now too. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I hope you find some peace and don't blame yourself in any way. Hopefully that tech will at LEAST lose his job. Why would he do that?? Take care, and again, I'm sorry for your loss.
