Help... Baby yeast infection? ** UPDATED*
My daughter has a terrible looking rash on her bottom - front part. At first I thought it was just a diaper rash. I've been using Destin for the rest 3 days and its not clearing up, but this evening its worse then this morning. Its a rash, but with red polka dots. Not sure how to describe it. It's just red dots around her lips... front part anyway. Not sure what to call it... Could it be an yeast infection?? Not sure what those look like on babies. Any advice? Wanted to see what you all thought before I took her to the after hours doctor in the morning.

Update: It was indeed an yeast infection. The doctor prescribed Nystatin (I believe thats how you spell it) to use it on all diaper changes until it clears up. I changed her earlier before putting her to bed and it was already looking better. Not so red as it was before. Hopefully it will clear up really soon because she just hasn't been herself lately. Kinda irritable, which I completely understand. No one likes their
who ha thingamajig itchy and stuff... LOL. Thanks to everyone that responded!! :)

I feel terrible for babies with diaper rashes. Libby has one so bad last week that she was bleeding!! It was horrid. We had battled one back in May that was the same way. The wonderful ladies on here told me to use Aquaphor and I am soooo glad I spent the chunk of money on it. It is the only thing that helped this last time. We did double up a few times too. Aquaphor and Desitin or Aquaphor and butt paste. I hope you find something that works.

I have used plain old cornstarch on Nathan and it works miracles...that is my preference now when anything flares up....hope she is out of pain soon...when Nathan had one so bad he cried and cried when I wiped.....but we bathed, let him air out (and hoped he did not pee on me) and used cornstarch....it works wonders.....let us know how it pans out....
