28 Week Appointment
Hi--
Today's appointment went well. As usual for this pregnancy so far, my vitals were great (BP - 120/70) as were the baby's measurements for his gestational age. The little tyke is still transverse and the placenta previa situation is still marginal. That means at least another week of pelvic rest until I can be re-examined.
Today was the first appointment where my blood glucose level was taken. Only 1.5 hours after eating a high-protein/low carb lunch, it was 74. I swear, I have to eat 24/7 to keep my blood sugar up. MY total weight gain is 19 lbs....I'm actually down a pound since the last weigh in and have essentially not gained any weight in a month. Although the doctor makes very positive comments about how well I've managed my weight, the snotty nurses don't mention a word. But, in previous visits, when I've gained weight, of course they make a big deal about it.
Here is a photo of our baby at 28 weeks. The arrow is pointing at his little chin.
Now I begin going weekly for check-ups.

I go every week now because:
A.) my OB is very conservative and known for his thorough-ness, if that is even a word.
B.) he wants to keep a close eye on my sugars and I will be having glucose level checks at each appointment.
I really don't mind going weekly becuase his office is just 1 mile from my house and I'd rather be followed too closely than not closely enough.

Cute picture! I love ultrasound pictures.
Glad things are going well!
I went every week too after 28 weeks....and got an NST. Better safe than sorry, right?
I lost weight in my 3rd trimester.....although I had gained 25+ lbs in my first two so the doctor wasn't too worried.
Keep us updated on the progress!
