Ever hear something good that seems not so good to you

Went to the Dr. this morning for US and bloodwork.  I have 16 follicles...the nurse and doctor were really excited.  I got really nervous, especially since I just finished watching that show last night about octomom.  Obviously they won't use all of them, but that seems like a lot to have produced at once.  (all them crazy needles I was telling you about HATED IT!!!)

Anyway, they say you only need one good one...So it looks like my retrieval will be Mon. or Tues. and my transfer next week...that's exciting!  I'm trying not to get too excited.  I'm kind of tired of the up and down roller coaster.  But really hearing all the success you guys are having makes me hopeful that it will really happen for me.  I'll keep you posted.

16?!!! Holy Moly! No, they won't use them all at once...my goodness. I bet you were speechless. Do you know how many they are planning on retrieving and transferring?

Good Luck!!!

Thanks Angie,

DH and I have asked that no more than 4 be transferred if they have that many that are healthy after the fertilization.  Since I'm almost forty I didn't want to only do 1 or 2 case they don't work.  I think I only get three shots at it, too.

I don't know if you were thinking about doing it, but I highly recommend freezing some embryos.  I think it cost us $95 every 3 months for the storage fees.

16 is a great number.  Keep us posted and good luck next week.

Yes, they told us about freezing which I'm sure we will do.   I'm not getting any younger!

That sounds fantastic Chavon.  That is a great number to start with.  You might want to ask the doc about hyperstimulated ovulation pain, you should keep an eye out for those symptoms.  I believe Carroll experienced that before getting pregnant with her triplets; she also had a high number of follies.  Not at all uncommon but something to watch for and get on top of quick.   Congrats and fingers crossed for a successful transfer!    Looking forward to your upcoming posts!
