Anyone else taking progesterone supplements?

I am taking the progesterone supplements right now twice a day and am wondering if this might be one of the causes of my super moodiness and crying episodes.   I've been on them since I first found out I was pg, August 3rd, so almost 3 weeks.   I was more emotional even before I found out I was pg, like a week before I took the hpt I felt like I was being PMS-ey with the kids more than usual and thought af was coming.

I bit my sister's head off the other day, then started bawling my eyes out and left to go home- and she had no idea why (I haven't told her I am pg yet, waiting till my first doc's appt) and was so confused.    I came away from that feeling so embarrassed but know that I am pg and it's fluctuating hormones.    I feel like now I have to tell here what's up with  me and probably will when I see her next time.   She understands because she has 2 kids.   But I was like WTH is wrong with me??!!! LOL  And then today, I was getting so frustrated with my 2 1/2 year old being her princess self that I just started crying.   Thank goodness I didn't put makeup on today and don't have anywhere to go... lol

The thing is, I was NEVER this hormonal with my other two pg's when I was also on progesterone for the first trimester, but I was 215 and then 265 pounds.   Is it because I'm half the person now and my hormone levels are just crazier right now because I'm thinner or what?  Is it the prog supplements too?   Am I going to be this hormonal the whole time (I hope not)????

I'm taking progesterone after my IUI 's and I will this time with IVF.  I didn't notice any moodiness from the progesterone (might ask DH) but I did get a lot of cramps and charlie horses while taking the suppositories.  This time they gave me needles (as much as I hate those things!)  Although I'm not PG yet, that's my experience with progesterone.

Progesterone supplements are the DEVIL!!!!! I am on them, and have to take mine in a sublingual form. I stay tired, moody, and nauseated all the time. Progesterone is the hormone responsible for most of the symptoms, so I think having to take supplements makes things worse.

I'm hoping it gets better when I can stop the supplements in another 4 weeks. These things are super bitter, and the taste lasts for at least an hour. VERY pleasant when you are already nauseated....

I was on progesterone injections for the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy.  They make you insane.

I am on progesterone suppositories vaginally once a day after my IUI's. The last time I was pregnant, I took them until 8 1/2 weeks when we found the baby lost its heartbeat. Yes, my husband recognizes the side effects of being on them for me. Two days after I am on them I am moody, emotional, tired, and etc. So, it is just part of it!!

HANG IN THERE!!!

yeah Tiffany, I'm on them for another 6 weeks, until I'm 12 weeks.... can't wait!  I am on the vaginal suppositories and let me tell you, it's no fun shoving these things up there twice a day!    But hey it's worth it to keep the baby and not miscarry!   I'm glad that I'm not on these the whole pregnancy too!

I think I'd rather deal with the suppositories or IM injections than these evil things that I have to take. They are oily, bitter, and my mouth tastes like I've been chewing on a piece of burned rubber for about an hour. I can mask the taste somewhat by sucking on a Jolly Rancher at the same time, but it's still gross. They take about 20 minutes to fully dissolve.

My progesterone is low due to having Stage IV endometriosis. We didn't think I could ever have kids, and this will be # 2 for me! (my son was a pre-op miracle). So, I guess I can chew on rubber for another month if it helps this bean stick!!

I had my Prog levels tested the month before I got pg and they were 11.6, so normal (but on the lower side of normal) and so when I got pg, my ob/gyn put me on these.   He did the suppositories because I had the RNY and figured these would absorb better than the oral Prometrium that I took with my other two kids (pre op).   I had  my Prog levels tested when I had my hcg test to confirm I was pg and they were 17.6, so pretty good.   But I have better peace of mind when I'm on this because I was on em with my other two pg's.

here's to surviving just a little longer on the prog supps!

Not that I have ever taken progesterone for the reason you have Christie.  But your symtoms sound like mine on the first day of AF.  I am a TOTAL and COMPLETE BASKET CASE.  I am so hormonal, sensitive, etc.  I am out of control.  The first day of AF WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hang in there, it's for a good cause
