Someone please help me, first time mom-to-be

That sucks that the PA was so rude! Your OB needs to give them a piece of her mind!

One thing you may want to do is to increase your carb intake to avoid ketosis. Things like sweet potatoes, whole grain crackers/toast, brown rice, etc... Add in some healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts/nut butters, small amounts of regular butter), and keep up with your protein intake.

This may not be something you have planned for now, but you can do it! In your case, I would think that all "high risk" means is that your doc will monitor your labs, weight, and baby's growth very closely at first to help minimize any deficiencies that could occur. Stay super diligent with your vitamins and labs, and if you can, try and minimize weight loss until after delivery.

Take a deep breath. You will be fine!

Your OB is right and your PA was a **** head.  My surgeon called and congratulated me even though I was only 4 months out.  He assured me that as close as I was to goal (like you) I'd be fine...and I was!
Nope, not high risk.  But if you are, they will jus****ch you closer to make sure baby is growing like they should.  Big deal, you probably get to see them more often!

You can do this...just take charge of your health.  You didn't break your tool!  Just because I used my screwdriver to pull some weeds doesn't mean it doesn't work as a screwdriver anymore.  You'll get thru this.  You are young and healthy!

Good luck, and I'd be giving that PA a piece of my mind and say "how dare you scold me, you aren't my mother and I believe I paid YOU guys...not the other way around!"

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I was very surprised that I did not give her a piece of my mind...I think I was too shocked. That and these hormones are already taking a toll on me. I was one to never cry before but would instead just yell and tell you whats on my mind but now...oh boy. Look at me funny and I feel tears coming; I dont like it one bit.

I have decided that on Monday when I go to my appointment I am going to talk to my surgeon about this. Especially because this is not the first problem I have had with her (I was having trouble tolerating the prescription iron and she told me to just suck it up cause I need to take it..in the end surgeon wrote me a new script). I think I am also going to talk to her and tell her that if I am going to be dealing with that office, she NEEDS to work on her people skills or I no longer want to see her.

Thank you for explaining why I would be considered high risk. I thought of it has all bad instead of the good...I get to see doc more often now lol. I have no intentions of stopping school, just maybe taking the spring semester off if I am high risk. But THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU lady's. You all have made me feel much better and less like a complete f-up.
