Could use some prayers
I don't usually like to bring this to the board but I really need some prayers. I have been off work since 30 weeks for PTL and state disability is only giving me about 8% of my pay (long story) not the 55% HR said I would get. I now also have to pay my medical premiums out of pocket so... that's my state disability pay. Robert (DH) got hurt at work about 3 weeks ago and is now only getting 2/3 of his pay from Workman's comp. We didn't think we were going to make it with just me going out and now with Robert going out of work I think only by a lot of prayers and a miracle we may not lose everything! If you believe in the grace of God could you please pray that we don't lose our apt and car. Before this happened we were just getting back on our feet and making a home for ourselves here and we like our little home and our kids are happy here. I have been crying for a week (pregnancy hormones do not help) Normally I would be looking for a way to stay home longer with my newborn but this time I'm praying he comes out soon so I can get back to work asap so we don't lose everything.
Thank you in advance

Thanks Donna.
No we don't have a lawyer, what part doesn't sound right? I don't know much about workman's comp. They have DH working light duty in the office (he hurt his knee and is a truck driver and can't do the clutch in the truck) at minimum wage and than WC picks up the rest to make up about 2/3 of his pay, is that not right?
As far as my disability I was on the phone with them for weeks and they said they couldn't do anything. I guess they base your pay on 4 quarters that correspond with the date you go off on disability. So 3 of my 4 quarters just happened to be when I was off work when I had Zoe the year before and than decided to stay home with her so was unemployed. So they pay me $9 a day?!?! They don't care about what I make now, I was floored when I found this out, it's just not right!
Thanks again for your prayers.

Our prayers are with you. Life sure can throw some tough things at you. I may get kicked for saying this, but maybe you could go to your public assistance office and get foodstamps, etc. I believe that this situation is exactly what they are there for....hardtimes for hardworking folks. There is no shame in it. You both have worked and paid taxes. Talk to everyone you owe money to. Really explain the situation to them. Most of the time, they will work with you...because, they don't want the hassle of swallowing the money....and maybe, just maybe, you might find a good person to help.
Try and be strong. Easier said than done, I know.
Big Hugs,
Angie

We do have WIC already and our parents help with any other food we need. It's more of the big stuff like the car payment and our apt. Our parents just don't have that kind of extra money to help so we are just praying something gives somewhere. Thank God we don't have credit card bills to worry about and we have talked to the student loan people and had payments deferred but my auto loan doesn't really care about my situation. I'm not going to give up I know the power of prayer can do amazing things!

I am praying for you also. I understand financial desperation. I have been there more times than I'd like to admit.
Not only will I pray, but remember to pray for yourself. If it's truly inportant to you, it's important to God. He will listen.
