quest for those who had a TT and then got preggo.
I had my TT last year and , well i'm now 15 weeks pregnant and my tummy is killing me and hurting constantly. I'm wondering if this is due to the TT? and should i be getting some kind of lotion to rub on the my tummy?? i never worried about this stuff with my other 2 kids as 1 was pre wls and the other pre TT. any advise is greatly appreciated thanks!
Good morning! I am four years out and three years out of my TT. I just had my baby three weeks ago, so I can share my experiences with you.
I used cocoa butter daily on my belly, but stretch marks really have to do with genetics and skin elasticity, not just moisturizers. The only discomfort I had (that I would attribute to the TT) was near the end, like the last three weeks. I think she was just out of room in my belly, so I felt veeery tight.
The other issue was that because the muscles and skiin were so tight, the nurses and my doula were unable to determine the baby's position, so it was a big surprise (and not the good kind) when she was sunny side up. By the time they saw that, it was too late to turn her. Also, the moniters were unable to pick up my contractions, so it was really up to me to be on top of that, which was fine.
I hope that helps, but every proceedure is different, so you may have an experience totally different than mine. I would also say that if you are having pouch discomfort consult your surgeon, but if its muscle pain, can you walk or go to a yoga class?
I hope you have a happy and healthy remainder of your pregnancy!
