Need some advice/help
Ok, so this is my first pregnancy that is "sticking". I'm 19w3d pregnant. I have been sick the whoel time. From the time I wake up in the morning until the time I go to sleep. I am currently taking Zofran prescribed by my OBGYN for this. Only problem is that I can only take it every 8 hours... Over the past week I have been waking up in the middle of the night (due to being sick and having to pee all the time). I break out in a sweat and get all jittery until I go out and getting something to eat (for example last ngiht I got up and had a slice of bread with cheese on it) and then after I eat, I feel ok. But this has been happening EVERY NIGHT for the past week! Is this normal??? Also, I have been having "charlie horses" in my toes! EVERY NIGHT! I have posted about this topic before. (Just vernting, sorry!) I've been eating bananas and drinking water like there's no tomorrow! I am going to have to try the bar of soap thing to see if that works. Hope it doesn't matter what brand it is!
So basically, I need to know if any of you have experienced this. Insonmia? (sp?) Waking up sick just because you have an empty stomach? Is this normal or something I need to be concerned with? I go see my OB 8/25 for my 20 week check up and explain all of this to them as well. But until then...
Thanks for reading and listening,
Jess

Hi Jess,
Starting in my third trimester I had to start snacking at night. I would wake up to pee and be jittery too. I'd eat peanut butter crackers or a cheese sandwich before going back to bed.
For the cramps in your legs.... the only thing I found that worked - besides making sure I drank enough - is magnesium. (it helps restless leg syndrome too)
I took 400mg of magnesium citrate in addition to what was in my prenatals/calcium before bed. On nights when I'd forget I would know!
(note I had a different surgery than you - so maybe you should start with 200 mg of magnesium if you're going to try it. magnesium can have a laxative effect if taken too much)
Hope you find relief!
Cindy

I remember waking up jittery with my last pregnancy and needing to eat something. Now, I go to bed so late and have a snack before I go to bed that the only think waking me is my bladder at about 6am.
I've been getting calf cramps but a few times my feet have hurt. I don't quite understand the soap trick...someone needs to explain that one to me! Every time I stretch my legs I feel an impending cramp happening...and these puppies KNOCK ME ON MY BUTT!
Good luck. Hope you get some good answers!

Sounds quite normal to me. I cant sleep. I have to eat at night. I have horrible charlie horses. Even during the day I have been getting them now. I eat right before bed and have a pack of crackers or something like that next to my bed with a water. That way as I go to the bathroom for the 100th time at night I can snack drink and go back to bed. Its all part of the wonderful joy of being pregnant. I get frustrated with some of the things but then I remember this is it for us so I am trying to love every part of it. Even the ones that kind of suck.
Good luck to you!!
