28 Weeks: General Update
Hi Ladies--
So, as of today, I am 28 weeks pregnant and I'm thrilled! My nephew was born at 28 weeks gestation....and now--thankfully--he is a typical, healthy 8 year old boy! So, needless to say this is quite a milestone for our baby.
I'm feeling great...thanks to the air conditioning in this craz hazy, hot, humid, 90+ degree heat. (That's hot for us Massachusetts folk.) Our baby boy has been moving around alot and I'm loving it. According to some of the pregnancy books, he's about 15.5" and just over 2 pounds. When I have my 28 week appt. later this week, I'll find out for sure. Also that day I'll be having my blood glucose level checked via post prandial finger ***** not the glucose drink or jelly bean test. I'll also find out how/if the placenta previa situation has changed. I know one thing for sure....this baby boy is transverse and hasn't changed position in over 2 weeks! His head is on my left near my elbow and his feet are on the right, pointing toward my right elbow.
This weekend my mother is hosting a baby shower for us in my hometown. It'll be simple and small. My in-laws will be hosting a shower for us next month here in the town where we live. That one will be bigger and more elaborate. I feel very fortunate to be having two showers...not to mention that it makes me feel a little more comfortable to have two smaller showers instead of one gigantic one...I think I'd feel more self-conscious with one LARGE shower.
Also, big changes on the baby naming front. Last week I posted that my husband and I weren't anywhere near agreeing on a name for our son. This week, we have two possibilities that we at least could live with. The name search continues...but I feel good knowning the progress we've made in the past week.
I'll update more after my appt. this week,

Seems like time is flying by for you! I know probably not to you but on the outside!! :) I know my baby girl is sideways too. She likes to hang her legs down though a lot of times and kick and dig toes in my cervix. Oh thats a nice feeling!! I hope things keep going so well for you!! I am so happy for you!!
