Belly Button Bleeding - help!

Hi ladies! I have a call in to Lyd's pediatrician but I wanted to check with you all, too!

Lydia's UC fell out last Sunday, so one week ago, and this morning its a little bloody. Not lots of blood, just weepy. And no other discharge.

Is this something I can just take care of with alcohol wipes and time? I have the urge to go flying to the dr's office again, hair all crazy, bunny slippers in full effect, but wanted to hear from you first before I go all New-Mommy agro.
Thanks!

I don't think you need to rush to the doctor, but I would give the doctor a call.  They will tell you if you need to fly in with your bunny slippers or if it is nothing to worry about.  Good luck hon, I'm sure its just a minor thing!

No, you're a new mommy, and its something weird.  Call them.  You'll feel better!

Hiya. The doc called back and said to bring her in so she could treat it with silver nitrate to just dry it up so it won't get infected. I'll feel better then I am sure. Thanks for your support. xoxo

I'm glad she did. That stuff burns like nothing I have had felt before.

Obviously, you have a call in, but my daughter's belly button oozed bloody gunk for quite a while after her cord fell off.  I think it was over a week.  I was told it was normal, as long as it didn't turn to ***** discharge and/or smell funny.  It ended up being more annoying than anything to try to get the crap off her clothes.  Just keep it clean and dry...
