Going to L&D for a check *UPDATED*
I have been having mild contractions and lots of bh for about a month but never the 6 in an hour that they tell you to go to labor and delivery for. They checked my cervix 3 weeks ago and it was still long...so they said to take it easy. Last night I had 5 strong ones in 45 minutes and was about to go, but didn't. I just talked to the doc and she wants me to go for an nst and to have my cervix checked. Better safe than sorry. I am thinking I am fine, but they will probably pull me off work since I am a checker in a grocery store. They had already told me on work days to do nothing else, semi bed rest. Yesterdays cx were on a day I wasn't working, but did take an hour and a half walk about 3 hours prior. Anyway, sure things are fine, but never had this with Emma, so a little nervous. Will post when I get home. Shari
Update~ So, went in, was having cx every 4 minutes, but mild. She wanted to give me meds to stop the cx but decided not to because of my diabetes. They made me drink a ton of water and my cx spread to 7 minutes with a closed cervix. They said I could go home////better yet, go to work. Are you kidding me. They said as long as the cx were not changing my cervix and the baby was okay, to just take it easy. I told her that is impossible with my job, but whatever. I will just try to take it easy and if it happens again go back in.
For now, I am fine, baby is fine. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Shari

Hoping everything goes so well. Let us know when you get home safe and sound!! I have been having them also for about 3 weeks now. I started having labor stopped at 28 weeks though with my 10 year old. We kept him in till 3 weeks so just do what they say and if that means no work then thats no work for now. Baby is worth that for sure!! Good luck!!!

What a scary ordeal, Shari! I'm glad you and the baby are all right. I can't believe @ 7 mins apart the dr still felt that was 'go back to work' normal. Have the contractions stopped completely now? Thinking of you and praying this was just exercise for the uterus and nothing more.
Hugs,
