12 Weeks and Trip to the ER....(TMI)

So I spent 3 hours of my life in the ER today.  But better safe then sorry :)  I woke this AM to brown cervical mucus blood on TP and when I wiped.  Also with small stringy dark brown clots.  So I called the on call doctor who assured me that it was in my best interest to head to the ER to be checked out.  I had to have my good friend take me after I spent the early part of the morning crying ... my husband couldn't leave because we have a bunch of construction workers in the house.

The ER doctor thankfully was very nice did an internal exam and said he didn't see any blood.  I said figures .... he said that after he touched the cervix with the "pipecleaner"  that he than did see some bleeding ...  Asked several times have I had rough sex... nope not since Wed. and it was no where near "ruff"  ... So still I don't know the cause of the bleeding.
He did do an ultrasound in the room - and baby's heart beat was 160 and move it's arms and legs all over :)  He also said that my cervix was closed.

Oh well ... he said Regina, I am optamistic.   So I think that is good :)

Anyone had a similar situation ??

I have had bleeding before. I would take it easy for a couple of days. I would keep your feet up and be catered to. Then I would call and get into see your doctor on Monday.Which is what the doctors told me when I  had that type of bleeding with my first. He is now 9. So stay off your feet and rest.

I started losing globs of mucous like that with Niko around 13 weeks, but no bleeding. My doc said it was probably just my plug regenerating itself. I hope that's what it is for you.

Try and rest,

Hugs,
Angie

Thank you ladies for your replies... It makes it easier knowning that I am not the only one that has been thru this.  But I have spent the afternoon resting and I haven't seen any blood since this AM even with all the doctor's poking a proding.   So I am hopefull that this was just an occurance and will call my OB on Monday.

The hard part will be Monday at work.  I am supposed to take it easy but I am on my own...we had to let go my partner at the front desk because she verbally abused another co-worker.  So I was on my own last week and this all may just be stress related.  So I am really going to focus on not stressing myself ... afterall it's just a job.  (haha...even though I need it).  My new girl starts part time on Monday and I will have a temp thru Wed.  so I am hopeful :)

Gina,
Sorry to hear about the bleeding! I understand the crying all morning. With my daughter I bled for about four weeks right about where you are- They said it was from the placenta not implanting correctly. Apparently it happens frequently. My daughter was born small, but otherwise healthy. The bleeding was more of a nuisance than anything. Glad you got everything checked out! It's fun to watch the baby at this stage being so active in there! I remember that feeling of immense relief after crying all morning too! Seeing her on that ultrasound machine at that moment will always be one of my favorite memories. Take care.

I am sorry you are going through that. I had some bleeding and all for the first trimester and everything has been fine so far. Praying for you and baby!! It can be fine though like with me and baby girl here.

I had spotting and bleeding up until 12 weeks with my last pregnancy.  I thought for sure baby was a goner but nope!  The cervix is just super sensitive.  Even a BM could cause it to spot a little.  Glad your little peanut is alright!!
