Pregnant and Worries
I am 10 months post gastric bypass and am about 5 weeks pregnant. I do not have an appointment until late next week. I dont know what to expect, i am scared that my baby will not get enough nutrition. Four years ago I had placenta previa and gave birth to my daughter who died three days later. With that said, i am even more scared. I am still taking all my vitamins and my surgeon told me to add prenatal pills but should i wait to talk the OB? Or should I keep taking everything. Thanks for reading:)
I got pregnant 2 1/2 months post op and my baby is perfect right now. They are keeping an eye on things and are having me come in every other week just to be safe but so far the baby is 2 days ahead. You can definitely have a perfectly healthy baby dispite being an early post op. It does take a lot of work tho! lol! I don't know what placenta previa is though so I dont have any advice on that end. I hope everything goes well and I am sooo sorry to hear about your baby girl.

Just double everything as you usually would. I take 2 prenatals a day and 4 calcium. I also take my daily prevacid and b complex. You have to make sure to add carbs back in because they are needed for baby!! Be happy and dont worry about things we cant change!! It will be fine. Staying calm and relaxed is important for us mommies!! Good luck to you and welcome to the board!!

First, CONGRATS! Second, breathe. :-) I got pregnant 4 months post op and had a healthy pregnancy and still had a 10.5 lb baby boy. I could only eat 1000 calories a day yet still had a baby moose.
I'm so sorry about losing your baby girl. :-( I know with my previous miscarriages before WLS it made me a total wreck with my post-op pregnancy for the first 2 trimesters. I wish you loads of luck!
I never had to double any of my meds even at 4 months post-op and even took my prenatals only ever other day due to constipation (SEVERE!) and still had PERFECT labs. However, every OB/Surgeon is different so see what they suggest. It's not the first time someone has gotten pregnant before they are "allowed" and it won't be the last, that's for sure! We get one of these posts at LEAST once a week. There's been waaaaay more success stories here than not.
Good luck!
