Thank you all for giving me hope!!
I've been reading all of the posts on this board and just wanted to say thank you to all of you sharing your stories. I'm about to have WLS and have battled with infertility all my adult life and with a recent diagnosis of PCOS I was really getting disheartened and beginning to think we would never have a baby. I'm 27 and my Hubby is 33 and I thought it would happen by now!
After reading these posts I'm REALLY excited and for the first time I have a real hope that I will be able to have children after surgery! I can't wait to not only be a loser but to be able to one day in the not so distant future be able to share my own baby story!!
Thank you!!!

I battled with infertility for 6 years prior to conceiving my 2nd son. I was told my husband and I would never conceive a baby "the old fashioned" way because of mine and his issues. Well, I am pregnant now, 8 months post op. There is hope, never give up! And think, after losing your weight, what a healthier mommy you will be!

Congratulations on your decision to get healthy through WLS! I too have PCOS and struggled with pre-op infertility and retention (m/c) issues. I'm so glad that the posts here have given you hope. It's not just pregnant women here - there is a TTC thread posted every week as well as those who aren't actively TTC yet, so feel free to lurk or post often.
I wish you success with your surgery and hope you will come back and post again!
Hugs,

It's going to be amazing at how life will be different after weight loss. You will be able to do things that weren't possible before. Even if you aren't able to have children after you lose the weight remember there are thousands and thousands of babies out there that need a good home. I am adopting my nephew. I've had him since he was 3 days old and I love him more than anything. He feels just like one of my own. I really hope and pray that your able to have a baby after this surgery. Alot of people have infertility problems when they are overweight but, soon after the weight starts coming off they find out they are pregnant. You will be able to share your own baby story soon.
Good luck to you!! I had the same struggles and we tried for 8 years before adopting our son from Korea. I call him my little "fertility god" but I know it's the WLS that is the real reason I got pregnant. BE CAREFUL!!! I got pregnant 4 months post-op when we forgot a condom ONCE. I never lost another pound after having him. It's amazing what this surgery can do to your fertility! LOL! Now, we are pregnant with twins...unexpectedly!!!
Again, good luck!

Thanks everyone!! I'm having an IUD put in before I have surgery because I don't want to chance getting pregnant to soon and hubby and I aren't in the habit of using protection so I want to make sure I'm safe, lol I will be trying to remember to double up and use protection after surgery but it get's forgotten and I don't want to all of a sudden be pregnant to soon after surgery!
I really enjoy reading all the posts here and hearing the wonderful stories! I'm so happy for all the expecting mommy's and all those TTC I'm wishing you luck!!
