Does the Loose Skin... get tight? Fill in?

Hi Everyone! This is my first pregnancy, and I needed the Gastric Bypass surgery to get to a healthy weight to be able to get pregnant in the first place.  I'm very very pleased & blessed to be 18 weeks along and looking forward to finding out the sex of the baby in 2 weeks.  AND I haven't gained any weight yet and doctor told me to start!

I was 300 pounds, I've lost 130.  Everybody here has an idea of the condition of my tummy skin/flab.  I've been looking forward to the "baby bump" and I'm getting a bump but it's more so my flab or pudgy part getting pushed outward.  I want to know, will it fill in? Get harder? Will I get the cute firm baby bump I'm hoping for or is it not possible for a bypass patient? I'm very self concsious about my jiggly, flabby belly, and want to show off a pregnant belly but worried it won't happen.  I see all these other women in cute, tight tops showing off the bump and I can't.

Like I said I'm 18 weeks, if it will get better, how far along might it happen?

Please help!! Thanks a bunch!
Sabrina

Mine filled in but the flab is totally hanging in the undies.  I think everyone is different.  If you look back a few days you'll see some 'baby bump' pictures posted.

Hope that helps a little...maybe not?  SORRY!

I literally didn't get a bump until I was 34 weeks with Niko and still had a small flap on the bottom. That's not the case with a lot of women, but I lost 63 lbs before I started gaining with him. I jokingly asked the doc who did my section to tummy tuck me and he kinda chuckled it off. Shockingly my little flap at the bottom has been long gone since he sewed me up. If I ever see that man again I'm gonna hug him for that.hehe.

You'll get there-----AND we'd better get pics!!!!

Hugs,
Angie

I don't have a lot of extra skin on my tummy, but I do have some.   When I was pregnant with my first the skin never filled out all the way.   I have muffin top and I was hoping it would smooth out.  It never really did.   I was able to get the cute belly when I wore maternity spanx.   I didn't wear them much though.   They are hard to get on and off and I was afraid I would pee on myself before getting them down.    I think I have some pregnancy pictures posted on my profile if you want to see them.   If I didn't have maternitly clothes on you really couldn't tell I was pregnant.
I hope you have the cute, firm belly!

Mine filled all the way out plus some.  Oh, it is lovely now!
It took awhile to get a good bump, but I definitely had a bigggg bump by the last part of the pregnancy.
Congrats on your pregnancy and weight loss.
