I get one almost every time I get pregnant. Call you doctor and they will hook you up.

I had one shortly after getting pregnant, doc told me that the Monistat 7 day was the safest to use, so thats what I did. It sucked, but it cleared it up. Call the office and ask one of the nurses, I bet they will tell you the same thing.

I got one too with my only pregnancy (so far). My OB gave me a free sample of something and told me that it happens a lot because the cycle every month helps to keep yeasts from growing and developing.  It worked! I also know that Monistat is safe for over the counter. They also suggested using Vaseline externally to help with itching. I bought  alittle travel sized one and took it to work and places so it was handy. It did work, which was strange, but better than always having to have a tube of medicated cream, especially being pregnant. Best of luck!! Thanks for posting this- I wondered if I was the only one who that may have happened to- Almost four years ago now!!

They told me to use Monistat - the longest duration one possible (7-day) but after reading the package, I got freaked and refused to insert it ALL the way up there.  So I did it half way as to not reach near the cervix.  Call me paranoid!  And don't forget the website www.safefetus.com if you type in a drug - over the counter or rx, it will give you the classification of that drug and if it's safe to use or not.

Good luck with it!!

I go to the health food/ supplement section and in the refrigerated section their are bottles of Acidophilus/ Bifidus Capsules. They have to be kept refrigerated to keep the cultures alive. I usually buy Nature's Way brand.  Basically I take two a day for about a week. I notice a difference within about 3 days but I also take these as a regular supplement to keep good bacteria balanced. Yeast infections are just an overgrowth of the bad bacteria. We normally keep it pretty balanced but pregnancy can mess with that balance.  I get one with every pregnancy too. My husband uses it as a supplement now as well and never gets "Athletes Foot" from his workboots. He used to all the time. There is a book called The Yeast Connection. Pretty interesting stuff but I digress. Congratulations on the new pregnancy! :o)

I got my first beastly yeastly when I got pregnant the first time.  I have since gotten 1 with each pregnancy.  (pretty much)  They suck.  I also got them repeatedly after my WLS.  If any hormone/chemical/fluid etc changes in your body, you have the potential to develop one.  You can use the 7 day treatments.  Don't use the 1 or 3 day... they are stronger.  Every OB I have been to has always given me the 7 day treatment.  After WLS (not during pregnancy) at one point during my rapid weightloss I was on a regimin of Diflucan weekly.  It sucked.  I haven't had one in a while though.  (knock on wood)

Good luck.

I thought I had one early in my pregnancy too but the doc checked me out and said it was not an infection but just hormones affecting me making me feel like I had one. It went away after a couple weeks which sucked it took so long, but make sure you get checked out first, you don't want to take anything if you don't need to.
