Note to Husband: Work With Me...
My husband and I are currently TTC. Actually, I am waiting for Saturday because a small part of me thinks I could be pregnant. I want it so bad that I am trying not to get excited just in case. Anyway, we have already discussed names. He wants to carry on the family name if the baby is a boy. It isn't a name I would typically choose, but it is important to him, so I gave him under the condition that his nickname be Trey since it will be the third. When it comes to a girl, that is where we have trouble. We both like different spellings, but I like different names as well. Good luck on the naming process.

I have to share what my DH's first suggestion for a boy name was. Sherman - sounds interesting right, too bad our last name is Tank. So he would be Sherman Tank! Not happening!!! He chuckled a little bit at my reaction so I think (I hope) he was joking.
We're trying to narrow some names down early and it's definitely a more difficult process than I thought it would be. You're definitely not the only one struggling, but like some people before said it's all about compromise. It sounds like you have settled on some good rules for names, so that at least narrows down the field some.
Good luck!

Our very first child, my husband wanted to name Angus or Augustus. We argued almost to 8 months about it. Then his mom saw an article in a newspaper with the Mason in it and it just click. Our daughter was easy and our last one was horrible our other two kids ended up picking out a name and we both love it. So now I have Mason Donald, Madison Marie and Preston Daniel. All of the middle names are family names. This one, I have not even brought up names yet even though I know what I like.
Good luck. My husband and I agreed on a girl's name right away, but we both argued passionately about boy's names. I got so heated over boy's names that we decided not to talk about them until we had our sonogram. Thankfully we got to put that argument to rest.
I really hope that next time I get pregnant he realizes that I have better taste in names and he should just back off! LOL!
