34 weeks today!

Ugh, the last few days have been crazy, I really wasn't made for this pregnancy stuff. Saturday night I was feeling bloated and gross, baby was going nuts, finally calmed down and I was able to start really watching the time on some pain that I was feeling. BH's where coming every 15 mins, not painful, but tight and annoying, drank a bunch and waited it out. Sunday morning at about 5 I could not take it any longer, they where not increasing in time but in intensity, so I called the doc.

Went to L&D and they immediately saw the contractions on the monitor, but baby boy was doing fine though them so there was no panic. They tried hydrating me (which I knew wasn't the issue) and it didn't work, so they gave me a shot of terbutaline. After about 10 mins it worked like a charm (except for all those lovely side affects), they kept me for another few hours to watch me but the contractions didn't return. Sent me home on bed rest, and I see the doc tomorrow to get an internal u/s to check cervix and to talk about maybe bumping up my c-section date to 36 weeks instead of 38. My uterus has been "irritable", but no painful contractions to speak of since the terb.

Hopefully little boy will be willing to stay put for at least another week.

Hey Courtney, sorry things are not going so smooth but I hear ya on the contractions they stink especially early! I too had them for hours Saturday night ! I am resting myself as I refused to the doc because I have to have a c-section and I knew there wasn't too much to do other than what happened to you luckily mine stopped after the whole night! I still get them if I do too much so I am just sitting and resting alot as I only have 8 days and a wake up so I am hanging there and I hope you can do the same!!
Hugs

Lots of rest, don't be doing to much. Let's keep that bun in the oven for as long as possible! I hope all goes well for you. Good luck!

Well its good the contractions have not come back. Hope they stay away as long as possible. I know my last one was determined to get here early and he did for sure. He is great now though so I hope they can keep your son in there as long as possible!! Good luck and rest as much as possible!!

I'm glad the contractions finally stopped. Do your best to take it easy. As you very well know, baking longer=better.

I remember ALL too well being completely miserable at the end. Hang in there!

Wow, I can't believe you are already 34 weeks!  I hope that your little guy can bake alittle longer, and that you can get some rest.  Take care of yourself!
