28 weeks pregnant and could have gestational diabetes
I also have it. I follow the diet, exercise and take insulin. My first daughter was 9.5 pounds, so that scared me straight this time.
If you follow the orders and watch what you eat and exercise, you may not need insulin. Exercising can really help. 3-4 brisk 20 minute walks a day can help numbers immensely. So can eating the diabetic diet. I know it is scary...but really you can do this. Just keep that babe in mind. It is more of an inconvenience than anything else because you have to be pretty diligent in your monitoring...but all worth it in the end to have a healthy baby.
Good luck and I am here too if you have questions. Shari
