I don't suffer from bipolar (although it runs in my family), but I did suffer from depression when I was pregnant (and for years before). This is what my doctor told me - although some medications are not 100% safe for use during pregnancy (as nothing is), there are times that it is safer for the Mom to be taking medication rather than not. So, I suggest talking to your doctor and finding something that works because it is very important for you to be in control, happy and healthy while you are pregnant, not just once you have the baby. Good luck and we are always here for you.

Not sure how to handle that one but I do know my kids are both bipolar and I can tell one day without meds. I would talk to the doctor about what may help. I know my kids have to continue therapy and all. I know how hard this must be for you. I wish I could help you out. I wish you lots of luck though and I know it has to get better!! Big hugs!!

Emmy,
Was this under the advice of you doctor?
Those medications are so powerful. I really feel for you if you went off them cold turkey.
I am not bi-polar.
I have, at times, taking the Serotonin type drugs...cymbalta, zoloft.
Everytime I went cold turkey it messed me up for a month plus.
Now, I take Well Butrin. I am taking it until I get a confirmed pregnancy. Not sure if that is the best plan, but, it really makes a difference in my life.
That is one of the reasons I test when my AF is due and sometimes earlier.
Talk with your doctor, set up a plan, don't suffer.
Sending you hugs.
