Sometimes bad things turn out to be a blessing......

A little back story for those who may not remember.  For the past year (at least) I've been seeing my WLS surgeon to try and determine the cause of this intermittent pain in my abdominal area.  This lead to a CT scan, which ended up finding ovarian cysts.  Went through a cancer scare, which was negative, then ended up pregnant in the middle of it all.  That pregnancy ended in miscarriage.

Not long after the D&C, the pain started up again.  For a while there, we were hopeful it was the cysts causing the pain, but at this point I knew they were gone so we were back at square one.

Fast forward to last week.  I spent the day vomiting (on Wednesday) and the pain was becoming unbearable.  I went to the ER at my surgeon's urging on Thursday, and had exploratory surgery on Friday.  Turns out I had some pretty nasty adhesions which were likely causing intermittent bowel kinks.

Moral of the story - if the pregnancy had continued, this could have been very nasty and dangerous for me.  You really do need to listen to your body and talk to a qualified medical professional if something does not seem right.

I'm hoping I can move forward now, in a far more healthy way, and once I'm healed, have a healthy pregnancy.

WOW - that is quite the journey! Everything happens for a reason - I'm a firm believer.

Hope that you can heal quickly and get back to TTC!

I feel your pain.  That is not a fun surgery to go through.   Hopefully that is the first and last time that ever happens to you.

Take it easy and rest.

Wow I am happy everything is starting to work out for you!! That is awful to go through all that but at least you are doing what everyone should do. Finding the lesson or silver lining or whatever people call it at the time. Good luck to you!!

Hi Sharon--

Thansk for your post....I think you are a wise woman and I'm glad things have been resolved.

I too had recurrent issues and I chose to have them surgically corrected specifically so they couldn't flare up again during pregnancy. In my my case, I had recurrent small bowel obstructions caused by an internal hernia and adhesions. Since I had the hernia repaired in 2006, I haven't had ANY issues (knock on wood). I wish the same for you.

Good luck in your TTC efforts!

I'm glad they found out the reasons behind your pain...and even though the mc can't be considered a blessing...I'm glad you didn't have to face the further complications you could have faced.  I hope I'm saying that right...that you know what I mean?

Get to healing so you can get busy otherwise...so you can bet a sticky BFP.
