OT: Varicose Vein procedures

Okay, so I have this nasty vein in my left leg that has been there since high school.  It is gross and I rarely wear shorts because of it.  I live in Arizona, so you can only imagine how freaking hot it is to always have pants on!!  So, I finally found a doctor that got it approved through surgery to be taken care of.  I have 4 surgery dates scheduled starting this Friday, then every few weeks.  This Friday they will be going in to the major vein in my left leg and making it shut down by the use for a laser and catheter.  They will do the front of my leg this Friday, the back in two weeks, then the right leg in two sessions in Sept and Oct.  We are in the process of looking at houses (and hope we find one before I get laid off, since I know it is coming) and was wondering if any of you have had this procedure and could tell me how the recovery was??  I have to be up and walking 10 min every few hours, but was wondering if looking at two or three houses the next day is doable?

I have no idea. but please please keep us updated.  I have HUGE veins in my legs and they are painful all the time.  there is on in particular on my right knee that I'd love to have taken care of but I've never met anyone that had it done.

hugs!

I hear (from reading) that recovery is not that difficult, however, I would think that house hunting might be over doing it.  I have thought about having some of mine looked at...but my understanding is that if I plan on more children, they will return (even if "repaired or surgically altered")...I guess my plan is to wait until I know, there are no additional children in the future.  Though, I would say if they are very painful (which yours probably is), I wouldnt delay either.  Mine in my legs are tolerable.  I just starting developing others with this pregnancy- and let me just say- thats a different story.  Good luck!

I was not aware that they could return.  I guess it is probably more like new ones can show their ugly faces???  I didn't get any new ones being pregnant, so I will pray and pray some more that I do not get any new ones with our next baby.  That would just suck!!
