And yet another update...
What a day! As I reported earlier in the week - my doc told me he was going to be going on vacation for 2 weeks. His last night of on-call was tonight - however, sadly - his brother passed away on Wednesday, so even if Drew decided to come tonight - we would not have our doctor. However, I met with the doctor who is covering for my doctor - he seems alright and I'm in love with the midwife that works with him - she is the sweetest thing ever. So I guess I will be ok there.
Today I was also scheduled with a NST and a BPP. The NST went well - I am having contractions but my cervix is STILL only 1cm and still pretty thick. The doctor said the contractions that I'm having are actually contractions that help to soften the cervix. Since I'm not really progressing with the whole cervix dilating ordeal - he doesn't want to induce (yet) and wants to keep monitoring me for the next week. If I don't dilate at all by the end of the week, we will start talking induction (which I really don't want, but will obviously do if its best for Drew.)
My next ordeal started when I went downstairs to radiology for the BPP. Whoever did my registration was a complete moron and registered me for a BPP on 8/13 at 11am. Now seriously - my due date was 8/2 - why on earth would I call and schedule a BPP on the 13th??? 11 days past my due date. That's ridiculous. So in Ultrasound they treated me as a walk-in. So that meant everyone who had appointments (regardless of the fact that my sheet said 4pm) went in before me and everyone from the ER was put infront of me as well. I got done with my NST at 3:30 and sat in US from 3:35ish to 7pm. I was NOT a happy camper. We finally went in and the US tech was so nice that I couldn't be a witch to her. She appologized profusely and told me the day she had been having. Her co-worker ended up leaving at 4:30pm even though the room was packed with people, leaving her to be the only tech on. And the ER kept sending people to have US. So I left her be, you could tell she was frazzled enough without my pregnancy hormones going bananas on her.
So the BPP went well - although Drew only scored a 6 out of 8 because he REFUSED to unclench his fist. All he needed to do was move a finger and the little monkey wouldn't. We got to see really good shots. His heart she said is perfect. You could see his little tummy moving with every breath and we got to see his ribs move with his breathing pattern as well. She kept telling me how gorgeous he was. She said he has huge cheeks - which I could see myself. I can't wait to kiss them all over! But because of his fist - we have to go back tomorrow for a repeat of everything until he gets an 8.
The shock of the night - he is weighing in at 8lbs. 7oz. - I'm going to have a toddler if they keep letting him bake! She said he's in perfect position to be born - it's all in the cervix now. So we will see how things are tomorrow!
Thanks to everyone that has been checking in. I love this board and all the women associated with it!!

Drew's going to be here soon.... I am so excited for you!!! I know it's so hard waiting...
I was there last December... I thought Zander was never going to come out... That's why I whispered to my belly one night "Zander, your mommy is evicting you... You have 2 days to come out and see me".... Sure enough, my labor started the next morning at 5:30am and he was born the very next morning at 3:48am....
Perhaps its time to tell Drew he's evicted.... lol
Goodluck sweetie and I hope it all goes well... Can't wait to see your pics & hear his birth story.... Have a great weekend!

150# kept off over 5 years now - Thank you Dr Kim!!!
Happy he looks alright and all. You are right about size though. My 10 year old was 7 3 when he was born weeks early. They said lucky he came early or he would have been huge. He will come out. Just keep walking and doing what you can. I know it is awful waiting though. Good luck to you!!
